Went here for a spot of Sunday brunch after a long night out and although the menu is extensive, décor is lovely and homely and location is fabulous, there’s something that lets it down. The wait. The wait for a full English breakfast and a strawberry milkshake shouldn’t take 1 hour. Having said that, the staff where attentive and when the food eventually came, it was very tasty indeed. The only thing I could improve would be the length of time it takes for your food to arrive at the table, but sometimes, you wait for good food.

We recently moved into the Wandsworth area and discovered this wonderful delight. I visited Konnigans with my boyfriend, and we both received really great service. The waitress, I think her name was Radka, was extremely friendly and very helpful. the service was great and the food was exquisite. It’s such a perfect place to chill, relax and have a brilliant cup of tea. I ate from the breakfast menu and had the fruit platter, it was a little overpriced in my opinion for just a bit of fruit, which is why I’m not giving it 5 stars, but as the environment and atmosphere was so relaxing and the service was so great I didn’t mind it too much and even ended with a generous tip. The dessert was absolutely, phenomenal… If you’re a fan on chocolate I would 100% recommend you try the chocolate brownie. By far, it is the best chocolate dessert/treat I’ve ever tasted. It’s it not overly sweet, not overly bitter, it is very well balanced in flavour and is the perfect tasting chocolate. It is warm and just melts in your mouth, it is bloody gorgeous! Try for yourself and you’ll see that I’m not over-exaggerating. Absolutely wonderful experience, my ideal and perfect café. Would definitely visit again and again.

What a great find. We are visiting London and have been staying at Battersea Reach. We found Konnigans as we exited the Wandsworth Town train station. Since we walked all day and were exhausted, we were happy to just be fed. The service was very pleasant and the food was delicious. I tried the pork chop which was perfectly cooked. Dessert was equally amazing. The crème brûlée was to die for. Perfect meal.

This place is so overrated. From staff sneezing into their hands and running food. To slow service. And slow food. The food was OK. When the waiter explains that management don’t take our tips so tip as much as you want, alarm bells ring.

Brilliant food and atmosphere. Great for breakfast too — the eggs benedict here is the best I’ve had. The evening meals — I’ve tried a few, and they’re all excellent. I live locally and this is my favourite restaurant around(along with Amirah’s kitchen a few doors down!)

Been once. A few lunch specials available 12−5pm caught my eye on the blackboard as I wandered past, each were each £6 on this day. Think things like fish and chips, steak sandwich, pasta etc. The service although variably attentive is friendly enough. Place was fairly quiet 4 pm on a Friday but was picking up. Good place for a quick meal if it isn’t packed. Would go back.

Have been twice now. Once on a night out with the boyfriend and another time with his parents for a meal when they visited. Both times the food was good, but the service quite slow. Reasonable prices and hearty portions. Really polite and personable service, but both times we practically had to wave a white flag to get the bill. Having only visited in Winter, my one complaint would be that it is quite cold. Our first visit we were seated in the front near the windows and there was a bit of a breeze. The next time we requested«somewhere warm» and were put in the conservatory area. While I had the good fortune of having my seat next to the radiator, the rest of my party were quite chilly. Even for that, we do plan on going again soon when we have guests to entertain. Perhaps trying it for brunch as we’ve heard nice things!

Tasty, tasty, tasy food! The butternut squash risotto is creamy and delicious. The curry dish is always zingy and generous. The beef stroganoff was tender and came with smooth buttery mash. There’s plenty to choose from. The service is usually quick and helpful. Nice décor too. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

This place is fab for breakfast or lunch. It’s on the pricey side but the ingredients are of a very high quality and the portion sizes are great. On a nice day I would suggest sitting in the conservatory at the back of the restaurant.

Been here a couple of times for a Sunday breakfast and the food is nice, portions are quite big, but did not like the service. And also perhaps worth mentioning their teas are not of best quality. Worth mentioning– their crockery and cutlery are of a very low quality.

I’ve been here twice for Sunday brunch and while the food(and coffee) is nice and the menu good, the service is patchy. We were only 5 minutes late for our reservation and they phoned up my friend at 1 minute past and were quite abrupt with her when asking if she intended to keep the reservation — and then they were short with us when we arrived, insisting that we ordered very quickly — for them to take ages with our food and drinks afterwards. I used to work in a café so I know what it’s like, but there’s a nicer way to do these things! Plus the price isn’t great for what you get compared to others I’ve been to locally. It’s not a bad place, it’s quite nice — but it’s not the best in the area.

This place is a gem. I’ve been several times now, so I feel I can say that. The service is always friendly; the food is always tasty. The atmosphere is laid-back and rustic, with mismatched wooden tables and reclaimed church pew chairs adding to Konnigans’ charm. There’s a big conservatory at the back that brings a spot of sunshine to your meal despite even the most dismal weather. The tables out front under the overhang are a perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon eating, drinking and taking advantage of the free wifi on your laptop. Importantly, the food is just plain good. The menu changes, as Konnigans is big on locally sourced and seasonal produce. The price isn’t cheap, but your meal won’t be particularly spendy, either. You’ll find a nice variety of wines as well as a bar that is fully stocked with things that might actually surprise you for a restaurant bar. This place epitomises local, affordable, modern British dining. I love it. This place is always buzzing with patrons breakfast, lunch and dinner, weekday or weekend. This, perhaps, is the best testament to its five-star quality. And a happy hour that boasts £3 cocktails is very happy, indeed.

Okay, so I am a little confused. Just a little, mind. I walk past Konnigans every morning on my way to work. Even then, early, there are people there. In the Summer, the place is packed inside and out. So, with all this popularity, why no reviews? Why, in fact, no business presence on Unilocal full stop? I had to add it. Me! I’m assuming it is some kind of clerical mistake, but whatever. So I went in today with my lady wife to get some much needed recovery breakfast. It is a Wednesday and there was still activity inside, though not packed. It was a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Nobody seemed in a rush. See, I have always avoided Konnigans in the past as it is so busy and has the unfortunate propensity to be full of screaming children. This is the nappy valley, after all. In any event, I’m glad we decided to go in today as it was a really nice experience. I had a british version of pancakes, bacon and maple syrup which was surprisingly good. Very surprising actually, as you wouldn’t think a greasy rasher of english bacon would go as well with buttermilk pancakes as the weird crispy stuff you get in the US, but it worked well. My wife got some kind of vegetarian breakfast thing which she assured me was a good effort. There was also big thick toast to munch on. Great success. I will definitely have it again as I’ve been searching for a good place to get an american style breakfast for years. Nobody really does it that well. Konnigans, while not being authentically american in their pancakes and bacon(pancakes weren’t thick, but they weren’t crepes either), makes it well enough and close enough to make it the best one so far. It looks good too, which is weird, but it does. I would go so far as to say that I might even prefer it to the American style. With some scrambled eggs it would have been the gold medal. Although judging what they did to my wife’s eggs, maybe not. –1 for badd egg play. They also do a nice selection of pastries and stuff too, so if you only want to grab a coffee and a danish, this is still your place. It was really nice. The perfect place to get some brunch(if it isn’t packed) on your day off here and there. It may even come to pass that I become one of the crowd that pack this place out during the weekends on warmer weather. The horror. Good friendly service, nice décor, relaxing music, competitively priced and a big ass tv in one corner. Yeah.

I’ve been to Konnigans a few times and it’s always been a really nice experience. The inside is cosy and dimly lit, but on a nice day I like to sit on the patio — or better still, the tables out front where you can enjoy the sunshine and watch the world go by. It’s conveniently located on Old York Road, right next to Wandsworth Town station, and the staff are always really friendly. Most importantly though, the food is superb! They have a lunch menu, which changes every day and includes a main course and a drink for £6. There are usually only 3 items on this menu, but one is always vegetarian — in the past, I’ve had baked sea bream and lemon chicken with cous cous — not meals I’d usually pick, but both absolutely delicious. If the set menu doesn’t appeal, however, there’s a longer menu, with soups, sandwiches and larger meals such as fajitas and BBQ ribs. They also serve breakfast and dinner.

Great little restaurant/bar just a stones throw from Wandsworth Town BR on the Old York Road. There’s a fantastic patio out the back, although many diners opt for the pavement dining in front, and inside it’s dark and warm with a morrocan feel. Great for lunch, with £6 specials ranging from sausage and mash to quiches and salads, and a good place to drop in for a post work drink and snack. Also, it’s always busy, so has a good vibe to it.
