The reviews on this site sure tempted me to try this oddly placed Lindon City Thai restaurant. The place is fairly routine, no white table cloths but tasteful place mats — unless they forget to give you one! The menu looks great and offers a variety of classic dishes — I had chilly salt calamari or as the Brits list it «squid», Tom Kha soup and Pad Thai. Likely the most common dishes as they are a great yard stick to quality. Squid was dry and overlooked. Would have been difficult to eat had I not requests some chili sauce which was not provided without asking. Same goes for chop sticks. The squid was not marinated or cowed, the chili was on the place chopped fresh. The Tom Kha was the highlight of the meal. Slight red curry touches on top and very flavorful. Fair amount of chicken and nice trumpet mushrooms. The Pad Thai was a disappointment. Generous shrimp in it but oh so sweet — desert sweet. All those fine Thai flavors covered in molasses. I’d recommend trying some bring else. Not a bad meal overall until we get to service. No placemat, no water after asking, no chop sticks and no chili sauce for the squid. Sloppy! No attention to detail. Drinks! Winston Churchill said that England and America are best of friends separated by a common language! He was so right and that’s before putting in a Thai accent. A quick language lesson. «Any vodka» which I consider house vodka in the U.S. means the most expensive vodka in the UK. Also remember that mixers are not included but charged separately. So to do the math, 50 cc of vodka GBP7.50 and tonic to it GBP2:50. One drink USD16.00 in an average Thai restaurant. I’m giving up drinking! Summary — would I go back — «no»! London is full of great Thai places, this is not one of them!

I stopped by here with some coworkers to order carry-out lunch back to our meeting. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated, service was friendly, and the menu had a good variety of dishes with a description of how spicy the dish is. I ordered the(medium spicy) grilled red snapper wrapped in banana leaf with a side of coconut rice. Each dish came is a microwaveable plastic container and wooden utensils. Snapper was cooked perfectly and I especially liked the fact that it was skin-on and indeed having good spiciness. I wished the fish was a bit larger though — mine was slightly larger than a smelt. The coconut rice was really good and had just enough sweetness to help balance the heat from the fish. Another cool thing was that the workers were decorating Halloween stuff(bats, cobwebs) inside and outside the restaurant. Plus, each of us got our bills in these wooden boxes which was kind of cool.

Stayed at the Grange St. Pauls, this restaurant is in the alley/street behind the hotel. Wife and I love Thai food, so we ventured into this restaurant. We did not order appetizers as it was almost 10PM and we just wanted to eat before the place closed. Got red curry and spicy chicken(had to pay for the rice for both dishes unfortunately). But the food was well worth the price, we ate it all and that’s not something we normally do at a restaurant. The spices were just right(and I love spicy food being from the West Indies), portions just right, and staff was attentive. It’s not the most spectacular Thai restaurant I have been to, but it did the job well. Slightly pricey but this is London. Enjoy!

My wife and I ate here last night and had a very nice meal and a welcoming experience. For London the prices are quite reasonable and — speaking as a Thai food fan — I’d say the food quality is excellent. Our dinner was simple. We shared a basket of shrimp chips/crisps and had two entrees: Crying Tiger(the wife) and Pad Thai(me) with a couple of beers. My wife, who is a picky eater, opined when her dish arrived that she probably wouldn’t be able to finish it and I could have some of her leftovers for lunch the next day… and she then proceeded to eat the entire serving! The Pad Thai(which I frequently order at unknown Thai restaurants to gauge their execution of this common dish) was excellent and authentically flavored, not the sickly-sweet version found at many Thai joints. It had plentiful prawns, and I also appreciated that they had cut the green onions into small, manageable pieces instead of the usual unwieldy 2-inch chunks. Service throughout was attentive without being intrusive; water glasses were promptly refilled without having to ask and we never felt rushed or neglected. A solid four-star restaurant to be sure!

restaurant looks nice but I was not impressed with the food and would not go back. I ordered a red curry with chicken and received some water with spices, chicken, and veggies. They overcompensate on the heat of the dish to drown out the lack of flavor in their curry and it did not taste fresh as it would be in a fine Thai restaurant. I would not recommend.

Have eaten there twice this week, sampled about six of their dishes including cashew chicken, red curry beef, roasted duck, lamb massaman, and another chicken main plus egg fried rice and fried noodles. All very good. This may be my favorite Thai restaurant in London, particularly with their very reasonable prices.
