A strong competitor to Gökyüzü, ordering a shish meal here gets a plethora of goodies: skewers of perfectly grilled meat, charred mushroom and tomato, flavoured rice, a basket of bread, a dressed side salad with olives, parsley and chilli, and two delicious sauces(chilli and garlic yoghurt).

Kuzu is the closest reasonable Turkish restaurant/takeaway to my house, and as a result, I get takeaway from there quite a lot. The place inside doesn’t look like much, but the food is really good. For around £6−7 you can get a great kebab with lots of salad, chilli sauce and garlic sauce. I’ve eaten in there before, but it’s a little too bright inside and doesn’t feel too comfortable, so I usually just go for takeaway. They have some interesting choices on the menu like lamb testicle kebabs. As yet, I haven’t been brave enough to try one.

The chicken kebab is probably two whole chicken breasts put on two skewers and well marinaded. Definitely enough to share or make a couple of meals, at least for me. Everything is cooked fresh as you watch over a cool trough of a charcoal grill. They have a ton of grilled options, over 20. They do a full range of mezes, veggie plates, and pizzas. The décor is sparse. It’s open late, so good for popping by any time. The cooking food smells fantastic. The staff aren’t exactly friendly, but they greet you when you come in and take your order, then cook your food as quickly as the grill will go, so can’t ask for too much more in a hole-in-the-wall place, which this is, despite the fact that the seating area goes back a ways. I’d recommend it, certainly if you’re in the area, and possibly worth a trip, although I can’t claim to be an expert on London Turkish food and the offerings available elsewhere.

Just around the block from me, so I was glad to find that Kuzu grills up some mighty tasty meats and breads. The grill guy toasts up more than a dozen kebabs at a time, and you can pick from more pedestrian meats or opt for the lamb testicles(which are huge and kinda just stare at you from the display case). Everything comes out smoky, piping hot, and dripping with well-seasoned juices. As soon as your meat is done, the bread is warmed up and then used to wipe down the excess juices, meaning even more flavor on the bread. Side salad brightens up everything, and you get rice along with two sauces: a yogurt one and spicy tomato one. Most dishes will run you £6 or £7, but the portions are enormous and will last you two meals. It takes about ten minutes for them to cook something up, so call ahead if you can.

Meat and salad always fresh. Servings are also super generous and probably suitable for 2 people.

I have never had better Turkish food in my life until I came here. This is the epitome of what a 5-star restaurant is in taste and friendliness of the restaurant. The inside isn’t exactly the best, but the food and the service is excellent. Plus the price range is so cheap compared to the Turkish restaurants in the states that you’ll be almost confused why it’s cheaper and how the food is better and how your portions are so large!!! The gentlemen that served us our food were so kind and made me and my friend visiting from the states feel so welcome that it made the food all the better. I am actually going to eat here quite a few more times before I return to California. Yes, please stop by this place if you can; even if you’re far away in the west side of London… This place is totally worth it.
