The best of France ! Products are top quality and very tasty. Cooking is done right and the staff are good. Try the fondue, it’s delicious: they add a fruity wine from Savoie to give it a fruity note and it really improve the taste of the melting cheese. It’s really relaxing afterwork to go underground and share a plancha of ‘charcuteries’ and ‘fromages’ with a bottle of wine. Because it’s underground it gives a feeling of intimacy. It’s not overcrowded so you can have a conversation with more than 2 people.

Great quirky French country house-type setting, fabulous choice for a Sunday brunch! Good selection of authentic French food on the menu together with your standard brunch options, as well as wine and champagne.

Finding hidden gems like place is seriously the best part about Unilocal.I may be waxing dramatic here, but the lunch options within a few minutes walking distance the Baker Street area are in a sad, sad state. Enter: Le Vieux Comptoir. 1. It’s right next to a little park, perfect for lounging, lunching, and people watching. 2. The ground floor is a little wine shop, with what appears to be a nice selection. 3. Head downstairs and be charmed by the rustic tables, natural light. an intimate vibe, friendly wait staff, and delicious(if rich) French food options. I’ve had lunch here twice and it’s perfect for an intimate business lunch, or a relaxing catch-up with old friends. The menu is fairly small: I’ve had the goat cheese salad and the tartine savoyade with cured ham, raclette, and aged mustard. Mmmmm cheesey goodness. Pair either with a nice light French white and you’re living la bonne vie française.

The café is located downstairs and it is really a cute place. It has a several room including a conservatory like room — the setting is charming — it feels like a café you wood find in France. The owner is a French produce exporter and it is done very tastefully. The good is not fantastic but good enough and enjoyable. I always got for fish soup and Lyon salad — both quite good. Would reckoned for brunch or lunch.

This is a beautiful combination wine store and French deli. It’s in Marylebone on the same side of the street as La Fromagerie and the Ginger Pig. Upstairs at street level there is a room with a selection of wine for sale, including a refrigerated counter for champagne and white and rose wines. Down the stairs the room opens up, and has a variety of seating, more wine shelves, and a bar. In addition to some tables, there is comfortable couch-type seating also available on which to enjoy your coffee or sip some wine. Given that they serve deli-style food, it’s a great place to try different wines by the glass and pair them up with pâté’, cheese, etc. I’ve been here twice, once on my own where I had a light lunch of a vegetable soup and bread, and another time as part of a company celebration. Both times I left feeling that the assortment of wine can’t be beat, and the food was very delicious and truly authentic.

What a shambles! This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in London. My advise to the owner is to get over there immediately. The staff are arguing, swearing, confused, unapologetic. My son’s lunch never turned up! The maître de hasn’t got a clue what is going on and still charged us the full bill. Just kept muttering ‘yes, yes’ when we complained. What a disaster.

Few weeks ago I was walking past this place and thought: ‘It’s like in a fairy tale!’. Because I love fairy tales, I insisted on paying a visit shortly after. The entry immediately swept my fairy tale idea away… Wine shop was upstairs(ground floor level) and the wine bar/delis takes place downstairs. In overall, the interior was nice even with some weird decorations. Although playing some super quiet jazz, the atmosphere was cold, almost deathly. Clearly not stocked well in the delis part, but still dedicating third of the area to selling salami. The wine bar was ok. We had some really nice salami with truffle(the truffle seemed a little absent), pâté, European bread and cocktail pickles. My friend wasn’t very keen. I loved them. The pâté was fresh & seemed home made. Apart of the owner, the staff seemed confused, insecure and not very knowledgable. Description of barman working in a wine bar: ‘This wine is very nice. The other one? Yes, it’s also nice. It’s my favourite actually.’ didn’t seem very convincing. So we drunk a glass of bubbles each and off we went to another place.

Oh Laurent, how I love you so. Wine and champagne can be an intimidating purchase — particular for someone like me, for whom a fruity bouquet is merely an ill-advised present for a male friend. This place is newly open, as beautifully and clearly laid out as one could want, and the owner — Laurent — has a passion for wine matched only by his willingness to help. This should be your first port of call for a dinner party, a night in or if you’re a connoisseur of alcoholism. I can’t recommend this highly enough!
