Scary staff! Don’t go if you have allergies or want a sales person crying at you! There’s like 7 cats in there and it’s a super tiny room. Our experience going in both times was that the stock didnt changed or has the weird girl there! The first time I went for a gift and the girl behind the counter was sweet but started crying and telling us her problems. It was ok cuz we thought she was having a bad day. We all have sometimes! The next time the same thing! It a small space and scary having a girl crying at me. She said she’s the manager and the owner has an eating disorder and needs help. Totally unprofessional! I hope they sort this place out and get new staff and products. Sad if it like loses sales because of one person. NEWRAVEEVS! Now back to the shop! Interesting to look at from the outside and in but on a closer look the clothes and accessories are bad quality. The cards are cute but expensive but from local artists so that’s cool! Worth it if you ask me. They had some things I bought that I thought was pretty a little print and a pendant from London artists. Had to drink so much water though after cuz of all the cats. I didnt even know I was allergic!

In the same way you’d never trust a man with a short mustache wearing green suit and with one arm pointing straight up in the air, you would always trust and like a shop with many cats. Lik + Neon is my idea of heaven. Every surface that isn’t covered with cute art, postcards, other objects and jewlery has a kitty snuggled and sleeping on it! I did manage to take a cheeky snap even though there was a sign saying«no photos». But it’s pretty hard not to take a photo of something that cute! Stuck for a Christmas present for someone? Head here! They have a fantastic selection of glasses and cups with mustache designs on them and other fabulous design items. I can’t believe I have just wandered past this place so many times and never been in. What a fabulous shop.

Check out all the pussy on show here! Totally took me by surprise on a Sunday afternoon to see such exhibitionism. Of course I’m referring to the three cats who sit around the shelves and the till here at Lik + Neon. The cute unflustered kitties that sprawl out and stretch/salute when you come inspect the goods that surround them. What did you think I mean? Lik + Neon is a cool shop nonetheless with a friendly and polite owner and an abundance of interesting independent designer outfits and gifts. I don’t think the neon Nu-rave is all dried-up yet, so plenty of the items look fresh and desirable still. My personal favourite was the collection of über-kitsch vintage greeting cards you can buy for a couple of quid each. Who doesn’t love getting a card of a airbrush-drawn cutesy fat-faced pussy?

Lik+NEON is one of those remnants of the Nu-Rave craze that took London’s youth by storm. Complete with retro one-off pieces, limited editions, out of production ranges and accessories to match. The owner is cool and easy to talk to her shop is about 6 years old and her little neon shop has been in vogue in a Angus Dean photo-shoot! The shop is small so everything you see is what’s there, but if your looking to mix and match different bits of accessories with your current style then your not at a loss having a butch in here!

Lik and Neon boomed with the new rave culture but even as the trends of yesteryear die out, this little shop just off brick lane is going strong. Independent, small designer t-shirts are the leading product and despite the cupboard-like size of the shop the range is well thought out and nicely presented. Go in to see the sleeping cats sprawled across the shop and check out the Collection of T-shirts under the label Line, simple yet perfectly designed.

This shop is amazing. You can find almost anything in here, from vintage items and strange CDs to charts comparing your height to Saddam Hussein and Hitler. They always stock a large collection of hilarious zines — my favourite being the ‘man man’ and ‘woman woman’ series; look out for them! Everything is quite reasonably priced, and the sales assistants have a great sense of humour and will help you find what you’re looking for. It’s quite a small shop, so you may find that if you’re with a group, you might have to take turns going inside. Oh, and before I forget: watch out for the cat! It looks like one of those fake breathing toys, but it isn’t! … Not that I’ve made that mistake before. *coughs* Let’s just say I’m lucky it didn’t bite me.
