I took a course in Spanish. Learnt really a lot, I wish I had more time to continue through it, however I am planning to come back. The best schedule, as you can take the course after work (language courses start at 6.30pm) and we do a lot of talking and learning new words. They also provide you with copies of homework which is good way to use individual time. Real Spanish speakers are teaching so I’d recommend.
The only weakness is classrooms, chairs in particular (they seem to be for kids not adults and sometimes it used to be hard to filt myself in. And I am not even size 12 but have long legs unfortunately. The prices are also excellent and the teachers wont shout on you if you seem to fall behind

I’ve been struggling on and off for the last year to learn Italian (Italian girlfriend… not really a choice any more after a year!) and I’ve had more than my fair share of starter lessons. I got put on to Waterloo Academy by one of my friends who had done a refresher series of lessons for Spanish so thought I’d give it a try.
Despite running a little late in my first lesson (geographical knowledge of London still lacking after 5 years) the teacher (Massi– without resorting to Italian stereotypes… really is incredibly Italian and a brilliant teacher to boot) instantly made me feel welcome and four weeks in, I’m learning at a solid rate and getting a decent amount of talk time in each lesson (2 hours). Massi is very approachable, takes time to answer any questions (without making anyone feel stupid no matter how mundane they may be… useful for me!) and every lesson gives you a number of ways that you can follow up the learning (information emailed to you, recommended books, youtube, journalists to get the tone and sound of words right… lots of ideas) so that irrespective of your learning style you’re well looked after.
I’ll definitely be taking part in the next two stages of beginner lessons and looking to taking my intermediate stages in roughly 6 months time. The lesson structures are broken down well on the website and at no point do you feel overwhelmed or as if you’re being short-​changed with your development. It’s making a huge difference to my language skills and it really is well priced. Great stuff!
