Mac Stuff is great, but only if you can access it. On this visit to the mall, I kinda felt like a new lippie. But no. There is a queue. And a make up artist with a half shaven head standing guard not letting you in. At least I guess they didn’t employ a regular bouncer to go with the dance music inside it… Do they spike the coffee at westfield or something so that people worship foreign brands? The queue triangle of Mac, Ugg and Hollister has just thrown me out of a new lippy mood.

I’ve always loved MAC make-up, but I’ve always made my purchases online. This was the first time I actually walked into a MAC store and the experience was below the standard I had expected. My friend and I wandered into the MAC in Westfield and had a look at some concealers. I wanted someone to help me chose the right shade but despite quite a few members of staff working that day, they all seemed to be either with another customer or just too busy doing something else. I finally found a free seat when another lady got up, but the make-up artist who had dealt with her simply walked off as soon as I sat down to be served. Fortunately the week before my boyfriend and I walked passed the store and he introduced me to one of the girls working there. I spotted her at the till and waved, she asked me if I needed assistance, I nodded and she promptly came over and helped me out. If it hadn’t have been for the fact that I knew someone working there, I doubt I would have been served at all that day. I also wanted to buy an eye liner brush, but was so disappointed with the standard of service that I went to Inglot a few stores down. Note: It was a Saturday so perhaps busier than usual. *Update* — Today(another Saturday) as I walked past MAC I couldn’t believe my eyes. There were no more than 10 people in the store, but outside was a line of people, waiting behind black rope, as if trying to get into a VIP club. Seriously?!? Why?
