Madame JoJo’s

Yes yes yes! I came for the Cabaret Roulette and left feeling like a winner.
Madame JoJo’s has a great vibe and amazing entertainment. I described it to my friends as the result of mixing burlesque, drag, and circus side show (read: NOT circus freak). Music! Dancing! Laughter! A mouse turning a woman into a mouse and dancing with her! Whipped Cream! Human centipede! You cannot go wrong!
Plenty of seating, though I’d suggest arriving early-​ish to get a good spot. There’s a small bar which is surrounded by thirsty people during the breaks. The only complaint? Not enough toilets.

Men dressed as women, women acting like men, a male stripper, a lot of rowdy ladies and a fabulous, colourful, sparkly, spangly cabaret show… I think that explains the four stars, no?
We came here for a best friend’s hen do and were treated to an evening of devastatingly gorgeous drag acts singing some fantastic songs for us all to get up and shake our booties to.
The show girls even came and joined us for a dance when they weren’t required on stage or serving drinks.
We were on some kind of package thing so after the show we were escorted to On Anon in Leicester Square to continue our evening on a glittering and giggly high from Madame JoJo’s. A great night was had by all!

I am from Louisiana, which is home to the sexy grimey New Orleans, therefore Madame JoJo’s made me feel like I was right at home.
I mean… just to find the venue, you get lost in the massive amount of «adult entertainment» stores nearby. I quickly popped by Soho’s largest XXX store before heading into Madame JoJo’s, which is exactly what was needed to appreciate the place.

Madame Jojo’s is a true London institution that has been mostly unchanged for years. This intimate, red velvet-​clad club is the perfect venue for watching its (in)famous drag shows, burlesque performances and many more night time delights aside.
I used to go to Madame J’s fairly regularly for electro club nights, which were among some of the best I’ve attended in London. It’s not too huge to feel daunting or overwhelming if all you fancy doing is sitting at the bar and enjoying some music, and always attracts an eccentric crowd.

Ahhh, Madame JoJo’s. If ever a venue worth Unilocaling about, this is certainly it.
Descending into the velvety depths of this Soho haunt is like dipping into Batman’s secret sex cave that he hides from even his most exclusively kept company, (but probably not from Robin). It’s a bit dark and grimy, but my initial skepticism was immediately replaced with an instant affection for this sultry glamour-​filled hot spot.
You must pay homage to any venue that effectively evokes Moulin Rouge style, Vegas sleaze and New Orleans nonchalance. Add an evening of Kitsch Cabaret and/​or Burlesque Idol to the mix and you’ll see exactly what I’m Unilocaling about…

Die Magic Night in Madame JoJos war eher ein Comedyabend als ein Magieabend. Mehr oder weniger lustige Show, teilweise sehr flache Witze, mit etwas Alkohol ist das Ganze wahrscheinlich besser zu ertragen. In den vorderen Reihen ist Mitmachen Pflicht, in den hinteren Reihen wird man zumindest in der Pause mit netten Kartentricks am Tisch unterhalten. Fuer 10 Pfund kann man sich die Magic Night einmal ansehen, mehr ist sie jedoch nicht wert.

We used to come here trashed all the time which explains why when i recently went back i couldn’t quite remember the place until I saw it again.
Coming across like some wonderfully seedy 60’s den, you expect to see Barbara Windsor and the Kray twins knocking back a few as the burlesque dancers do their stuff. If you’ve never been then you really should check it out, it is a wonderful little club.
The bar prices are okay though we felt ripped off with being cans of red stripe for £3.50. To be fair your coming for the acts so check out the website and see what you fancy and go have a fun, sexy night out!

I have loads of good memories from this place, especially Tuesday nights, hosted by the White Heat men is a good indie night. They always have up and coming bands on, and fun DJs. Drinks offers mean you can get spirits for about £2.00 and beers for a similar price. The crowd is laid back and get rowdy– the venue is pretty intimate so it is a good place to go for birthdays and other celebratory occaisions– you can’t lose your friends!
The bar area looks over the dancefloor, so you can observe everyone dancing (maybe laugh at the oddballs). The bouncers sort out any trouble as soon as it may brew, from my own exprience they are pretty strict and fair.
Another good night, if you want a change, is Deep Funk on Fridays– does what it says on the tin. There is also a cabaret night, if you want to go for something a bit more naughty!

Un vrai club avec dès votre arrivée une lumière rouge puis bleue avant d’arriver dans les salles. Vous pourrez écouter du DeepFunk et DJ Funkie P. Le son est bon c’est très bien.
