They only accept cash, which seems weird for a place thats selling lunch food in the middle of busy soho, but I can forgive them that as there are a bunch of cash machines right across the road. However, some of the staff maybe need some training on how to deal with customers — one guy, who appeared to be the manager, offered up a lot of sighing, eye rolling, and snarky responses to my request of no tomato, which i would have put down to being flustered if there were more than just me and two other customers in the whole shop at the time(of which i was the last to be served, so there was no urgency). Won’t be going out of my way to go back, there’s plenty of other places with polite staff and better food.

I had the falafel wrap which was yummy. They also substituted an ingredient for me without quibbling. I didn’t give Make Mine four stars because I think it’s a bit expensive and also the queue situation is rather yawnsome. They need to manage their queues properly! It’s a good place for a once a week treat as long as you take a good book to read whilst you wait to give your order and pick up your food.

Despite a glut of sandwich bars in Soho, this place is usually packed with hungry media-types on their lunch break. Don’t let them fool you! I can only imagine that it is a distinct lack of imagination and/or an understandable unwillingness to walk further than strictly necessary which repeatedly draws in the Wardour Street faithful. Because the sandwiches are pretty good. Not amazing, not mouth-wateringly worthy of instant texting to local friends, but certainly not bad. Just. .. good. But then, so are plenty of other sandwich joints within a few hundred metres(as well as ones which make the same thing, equally priced, but MUCH better), and the others have the benefit of being filled with friendly, chatty staff, whereas the people here might as well be working in McDonalds. Plus it takes ages for your order to arrive. And you have to keep a beady eye on the sandwich makers in order to stop them mid-spread to include black pepper etc because they never ask you first and if you request it at the till, they don’t bother passing on the information. However, my real gripe with Make Mine is that the name implies a service centered around sarnies tailored to your exact tastes and specification. I’ve tried it a couple of times but the most recent was after my semi-Jewish culinary genes made themselves known and I spent the morning craving a proper smoked-salmon and cream cheese bagel. Being a relatively popular choice, this is one of their named combos on the board but I requested that it include the not-uncommon addition of capers. The woman stared at me as if I were speaking Swahili. I repeated my requirement but she looked as baffled as ever and asked what they were. When I explained, she grumpily offered me cornichons as a(deeply sub-standard) replacement which I unwillingly took. Now I don’t expect a little sandwich shop to stock ingredients rivalling a Tesco Extra but I don’t personally think that capers are particularly outlandish. Nor do I think that someone with as limited a knowledge of such things should be working in a place which presents itself as something of of a sandwich mecca. Am I being fussy? Yes, probably. But when you are a sandwich shop surrounded by other sandwich shops, surely it’s in your best interests to make your product and service as worthy as possible? So if you fancy a bread-based lunch in Soho and pass by Make Mine. .. keep walking. You won’t regret it.

Apparently you don’t buy sammies or sandos around here, it’s a sarnie or a bap or something. I know this because my work intranet newsgroup sternly corrected me and forebode any of my outlandish abbreviations. Regardless, sandwiches they make here at Make Mine, and they’re not half bad. They might not be as cheap as I’d like for a breakfast sandwich(3.25 for a signature selection, 2.90 for a two topping dealio) or lunch menu choice(4.75) but they toast ‘em perfectly and are generous with the innards, but not to the point where they spill out and turn into a liability. If you’re lucky, while you’re waiting, you might get to listen to your preparer guy flirt with his short-ish ingredient chopping assistant(who is having none of that) while he puts together your order. Ah, early morning innuendo! You want to Make Mine on the go, the three little coffee tables they have instore seem to be more for those waiting on orders, and the service has always been prompt. I haven’t had to deal with more than a few peeps in queue at a time, so it’s been good to grab after the gym, but I think they have good enough turnover to keep their ingredients fresh. Of good quality is hard to say, but it all tastes good, and it ain’t the cheapest sammie/sarnie/sando/whathaveyou around, so I choose to think it’s better than alright.

Make Mine is saved by it’s food. Everything else about this eatery leaves a lot to be desired. Often have I wandered past it’s doors in the morning and smelt its delights, fighting with the inner demons not to go in and buy something. However, when I went in today a little hungover, I thought I’m going to treat myself. Unfortunately I wish i had just kept on walking. Having placed my order the moment i walked in at 9.27 i waited on my sausage, egg and bacon sandwich for almost 20 minutes. Quite honestly it really shouldn’t take this long for one persons order and considering it was hardly rammed in there. The inside is weird too. There no where for people to really sit and no where for people to really stand. I’d hate to think how long you would have to wait if they were busy. Thankfully the food itself was spot on. It saved them from being a 1 star review. Final note on Make Mine’s report card: Must Try Harder. Sexy Rob

I like this place to eat nice wrap. I used to eat the chiken or salmon wrap, and the taste is very good. Food is fresh and healthy, and the wrap is very big! It worths to wait :) The staff is very friendly, employees do their best to speed.

Not for the weak — great sandwiches & salads though. Cheap coffee at £1.60 and porridge in the morning

discovered this place as new to london and needed somewhere to grab breakfast in the morning. found the service to be reasonable in the time it took to be served. the prices were average for central london but the quality of food was much better than average. with them making a fantastic toasted sandwhich with chicken, lettuce, and cheese, which was really lovely! defintely somewhere that I would eat again.

I came here for a sarnie recently, after a tiring walk around pre-Christmas Oxford Street(don’t do it!). It was a great choice. Even though they were busy, they dealt with our order quickly and efficiently. There’s a plethora of sandwich fillings and soups to choose from as well as salads and wraps. They have a basic system with the sandwiches: 1 filling is £2, 2 fillings is £2.50 and so on. I had a pastrami and manhego sandwich which included a salad and was very tasty indeed. My large mocha coffee which kept me going on for the next half an hour was delicious and cheap too at £1.40! A real find.

If you are after a quick lunch and the best sandwich in Soho, this is your place to go. They will make your sandwich or wrap from the fillings you choose, the bread is fresh and thick(also wholewheat options). Thy simply just use really good ingredients generously. It is hard to name my favorite. I usually go with the toasted ciabattas stuffed with cheese and veggies. or scrampled eggs sandwich. Yum! Maybe not as cheap as the sandwiches from supermarkets, but hey, no concentrates. During lunch time be prepared to queue.

Just like everyone else, I can’t give it 5 stars because of the queue. Actually, screw it, I will. My sandwich was bloody lovely today, incredibly good ingredients used here — lovely rare beef, awesome parmesan, crisp rocket, lightly toasted yes please. Actually, it was 4 quid, so what do you expect? I’ve had so many bad 4 quid sandwiches though, I will give it the extra star.

Fantastic place for breakfast toast, lunch or mid afternoon snack. The staff are really nice, the food is fresh and they are fast although the volume they have to get through can lead to delays at time. Fantastic!

Although Soho isn’t exactly short on sandwich bars, there aren’t that many that will make you a wrap as big as your thigh. The menu items are pricey but incredibly tasty. Simple sarnies that you pick yourself are much cheaper. There are numerous types of bread to choose from as well as wraps and salads for those trying to convince themselves that they’re being healthy. To be fair though, all the ingredients look really fresh and there’s no way that amount of greenery can be too bad for you. I’d recommend the toasted focaccias or ciabattas. Anything with extra cheese And be patient, this isn’t the fastest sandwich in Soho. But worth the wait.

Although the prices are quite steep this is a great place for hangover food. Enourmous sandwiches, made with what ever you like. Wraps, rolls, toasties… you name it, they do it!
