If I had wrote this 5 years ago then I would be giving Makro a 5 star, but since then we have suffered inflation, recession and VAT increases, lol.
Honestly this place use to be a good bargain. You would see the quantity then you would see the prices and you know that this is a deal but now I find myself really looking for the bargains.
Don’t get me wrong as would still find what your looking for from a bag of potatoes to a garden shed. I mean the place does have anything you would need, it’s just that the prices are normally and by the time the cashier adds the VAT then you know it is less than glamorous.
I have resorted to waiting for the Makro mail so I can identify special offers and deals for there fresh meats.

This store is huge it is basically a cash and carry outlet. It is excellent if you love to buy in bulk. You do have to have a membership card. It sells food products, electrical goods, tools, furniture, clothing and shoes, housewares, wines, spirits and beers, toiletries, giftware, stationery, in fact everything that you would find in a traditional department store, only without the luxury surroundings. You do have to be careful to remember that the prices on the merchandise do not include V.A.T. so some things are not as much of a bargain as they appear to be.
