Bought a DVD converter. Didnt work as my of has only on jack for mic and speakers. But back on the box, perfectly as it was to be returned and they did not accept it back, saying I have bought, used and was now returning. Will never go there again.

Maplin is a slightly more geeky electronic store and the payoff is that its staff tend to be a bit more tech savvy than other high street electronics stores.
I had to purchase an AC adapter for some electrical equipment that I had purchased in the USA. The store assistant was able to direct me immediately to the right area and talked through the various options and the relative pros and cons of each option.
I’m now the proud owner of a U.S. vacuum food packer which I use to pack food ready for cooking in my sous vide water bath thanks to the all important adapter. So, full marks to Maplin!
