I stopped at The Med Kitchen for dinner during a London layover last week. It was a weekday, so it wasn’t busy. I sat for a while, reading and eating, and didn’t feel rushed. The service was great. I definitely recommend this restaurant! I ordered the Parmesean Crusted Chicken(with an Appletizer to drink) and it was absolutely phenomenal! The restaurant is reasonably priced, too, which I appreciated.

Overpriced. This place is definitely a place where you would enjoy a dessert or a drink and splurge. I don’t think I can afford having lunch or dinner here. For a little under 7 pounds, you can get a tiny slice of banoffee pie. This pie is so heavenly, and definitely a delicious must-try treat if you were a tourist like me and have never had one before. It’s so expensive but oh so good. Sadly I can get a whole banoffee pie at the Waitrose just down the street for 4 pounds, but I’m glad that I got a yummy gourmet one. I don’t think I’d ever come back here for it again, but it was a great introduction to banoffee pie for me. For such a classy place and at around 6:00pm when I went, it was surprisingly empty. Only about two tables were occupied…

Ideal for lunch. Very family friendly restaurant a stone throw away from Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park. Attentive staff and good menu choice. Not a fine dining experience but a great meal for families or friends alike.

My spinach and parmesan tart was under seasoned, but the banoffee pie made up for it. Seriously one of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted.

After quite the long afternoon walking to and through the history museum and down to Hyde Park and back, we decided to sit for a spell and have a bite to eat. I suggested this café, despite the fact that the name initially makes me think of medical supplies, which don’t belong in a kitchen. Anyway, I ordered a rocket, goat cheese and pear salad and the husband had some shrimp scampi. We both ordered drinks, as well. The food was probably more like 3 stars, but our server was taking laissez faire to a whole new level. I shall give him the nickname«Mr. No Smiles» or «Gee, I Hate Working Here». It is also possible that he knew we were Americans and just decided to be a dick. Not sure. Looking back now, I’m not sure what his role was, as a different chap brought us our food and eventually our check. My salad had a generous amount of goat cheese, but the rocket was a bit wilty and seemed gritty at times(cringe). My husband was a fan of the shrimp — mainly becuase the tails were removed. Which, never happens in the US. Even though they have eggs benedict, I doubt I will return. Unless I have 2 hours to sit around and wait for my check.

A very nice — and very big! — classy spot in Kensington. When we were here though, it was only to drink, so I can’t actually comment on the food. The bar is set up with comfy stools and a well-lit, pretty display of bottles. Service was friendly and attentive, and prices were actually pretty reasonable(for London). The bathroom is in dire need of an update.

Nice warming soup! Good salads. Eggs royale(bene without the ham; salmon instead) was yummy. Nice for a catch up lunch with a friend.

Already liked this place but got addicted to their breakfast. And, addicted to coming here at night to just hang out. Quiet, open-air morning — so tranquil, yet bright and relaxing. At night, it’s bustling, yet peaceful and posh. Great for when you don’t want to hit the pub or club, but still want to go out and maybe have a drink.
