Metro Colour

Walked in and the place was complete chaos — they rushed me through half my print job, didn’t need colour OR card printing but they didn’t bother to ask, so I paid a lot more than I should have for a dozen sheets of what should’ve been bog standard A4 printing. Then announced they didn’t have time to finish the second half of my job (granted, it was 45 mins till closing, but warn me beforehand!). They were friendly enough but I wouldn’t go back there. Plenty of other, better print shops in the area.

We have used Metro for many years and love their speedy service, helpful attitude, and the way they check on the little details before printing. They even came into work one evening to get an urgent job done for us, and then drove it over so we didn’t have to pick it up in the morning! Beyond. FIVE STARS.

A no-​nonsense, fuss-​free, quick, simple and CHEAP (for London) printing service. These guys really do have a ‘no muss no fuss’ attitude to printing jobs no matter how little notice you give them and no matter how big or small the job.
Expect friendly and efficient service whether you’re on the phone or popping in.

so i was a complete putz and needed some fliers printed STAT. i went in, told the guy i need 300 A7 double sided colour fliers by that evening and braised myself for the «no» i was sure i was going to get.
«sure,» he says, «no problem. let me crunch some numbers for you. give me the files and it will be all set in an hour and a half.» i must have looked looked ready to hug him out of joy because he gave me a look and chucked. «that help your stress levels much?»
yes would be the answer.
the same thing happened a few weeks later. this time i called ahead, and they still had my files on their computer. this time «sure, come by in 30 min.»
it was £50, both times, which is cheap when youre freaking out, but if you compare to some prices you’ll find online and have the time, its rather expensive.
however! the second time he threw in an extra 100, so i still love them.
note: they only do cash, so be sure to bring in the green. or blue. or purple. whatever.

East London is full of little and big printing factories and shops, most of them costing the earth for a few colour A3 prints!
You have probably walked past Metro Colour many times and never notice its existence. Along Bethnal green road just after T-​bar but before Beach Blanket Babylon, a door in the brick buildings on your left.
They print everything and anything and if you have an alternative idea they will try to see how they can make it work! I had my final year written portfolio and reports all printed and bound and subsequently use them each week for proposal prints outs and for business cards.
They are extremely well priced and good quality. Make sure you take things on a PDF file as it makes it much easier and quicker! Subsequently you can have photographs printed and mounded and t-​shirts.
The people who work at Metro Colour and extremely efficient and helpful and willing to explain. The Boss Ray has many years experience and can tell you interesting facts about printing 20 years ago!
