I’ve been a huge fan of Fornasetti, particularly neck ties based on his art, since discovering a little shop in Niagara on the Lake selling his ties. Never been able to find a brick and mortar store selling them since. It’s freakisly hard to find any place in North America selling Fornsetti ties. Google research discovered this shop that specializes in all things Fornasetti. Taking advantage of scheduled«chill out day» the boss gives us after doing trade shows abroad, I made a bee line for MILK. It was a bit hard to find. It’s right at the corner of Old street and Shoreditch, although even numbered addresses seem to be on BOTH sides of Shoreditch. I was on the west side of the street and failed to find 118. It’s on the EAST side. The staff was über cool, they sounded like they were from France. My hands were grubby from the subway and a bacon and brie panini and asked a staff member if she could tie the tie I was interested in into a half Windsor. She didn’t know. That was kind of cute. Picked up a groovy tie and a pillow. Although I have to say this year’s selection of Fornsetti ties is somewhat uninspired. Anyway, if you’re a Fornasetti fan and looking for a big stash of his stuff outside of Milan, the MILK boutique is the place to go.

I love their design products, but 95£ for a mug is a little bit OTT. PS_if you save enough though, then you do get the crème de la crème

This boutique is a dream. A mini-Colette in Paris or 10 Corso Como in Milan it sells the most stylish furniture for urban living. It has adorable gift ideas that they wrap beautifully(check out Mathilde M for the prettiest scented ceramics) and even has an adjoining fashion boutique with some quirky but wearable labels like Patrizia Pepe and Repetto. The great thing is, there’s a lot to enjoy but it’s manageable too. I defy anyone not to love it.
