You pay want you get. Cheap food subpar flavor. Style of cooking is everything covered in glaze. All you can eat but who goes for more? The Chinese hot tea is good but served in a plastic cup.

Cheap budget buffet with decent selection of food. Staff are not friendly and make you pay when you arrive which is very odd. Food was the usual greasy food you’d expect.

When you’re going for a Chinese buffet, you know exactly what you’re paying for — fried everything that isn’t Michelin material, but you can be damn sure you’ll be full afterwards. Prices have gone up of late, but nonetheless, mr wu’s is still one of the best buffets around well worth your money when you’re short on cash and feel like stuffing your face with greasy, tasty, diet busting ‘Chinese’ food. Very convenient if you’re in Chinatown

Yes, Mr Wu is quite cheap all-you-can-eat buffet in London but the quality could be on slightly higher level. I was there on Friday and paid around £7.50. But now the review… The food was average, expectable result for those 7 quids and some loose change, drinks such as Pepsi, 7UP were available. But I think that UK doesn’t have lack of water so why do they sell water from Turkey?! But in conclusion I didn’t get sick. Interior could be a bit more spacious, I sometimes had problems with getting to my table, but it wasn’t absolutely bad. THETOILETS — don’t read this chapter if you’re eating now… When I finished eating I went to toilets. I haven’t seen worse toilets in my whole life!!! Even the toilets in McDonald’s are better and particularly cleaner!!! There were spray paintings on the walls, everything was quite old and dirty! And because I got hurt there I hope I won’t get jaundice! Btw don’t be afraid of staff going to tidy up the toilets — they check them once a week!(I didn’t fabricate it, it’s really true). And when I was leaving, I was glad that staff said at least bye bye! Mr Wu, you shall get better!

The staff members weren’t really nice, to be quite honest, they were just standing there with a cold look on their faces. It’s cheap and you basically get what you pay for: cheap food. It was definitely one of the worst Chinese meals I’ve ever had, and it made me feel quite a strong stomachache the next day. I see many people say they were happy they didn’t get sick after eating here but hey, I wasn’t that lucky… It sucks that London is such an expensive city because I’ve eaten great food in Japan and Spain for way less than that price, but there’s nothing that saved this place in my opinion as it was just bad.

you definitely get what you pay for with this buffet restaurant… but hey what do you expect for 5.95… some of the dishes were dry and really didn’t have that much flavour… the venue is small and it doesn’t have many dishes to offer… vegetarians will most likely be disappointed with what’s offered… the positive thing is the staff are friendly and welcoming… would i go back? sorry to say but NO…

Not the best Chinese meal I’ve had, not by a long shot. But it was £5.95 for all I could shovel down my throat, and I was damn hungry, so I couldn’t really complain. Also, there were 2 or 3 different vegetable dishes to go with my rice and noodles, which is more choice than a lot of the other cheap buffets in China Town. And with a side serving of sweet and sour sauce, they were somewhat palatable. The spring rolls — they get a thumbs up from me. Actually, I’m craving them now…

Yes, the food is average. but the price! :) Also, I have sentimental memories about this place as I visited it many years ago for the first time and it was my first«all you can eat» experience. Since then we come back while in London. It may get pretty crowded but the staff will show you where to sit.

Ate here after a long day of sight seeing. We were drawn in by the price-5.5 pounds. We should’ve kept walking. The food was terrible. Too salty. Food seemed old. Soup was just hot water with bean sprout and mushrooms. Good thing we didn’t get sick.

Its amazing how few cheap buffets there are in London. The food is all bad. For 5 quid I don’t think its fair to expect much better unlimited food. Pork balls were like rocks. The only reason I’d give it any stars at all is the price. I can see the logic in having dirt cheap food. I am just more discerning now.

The cheapest Chinese buffet in town. Sometimes good, but not a lot of choice. Have enjoyed meals here previously, but today was a disappointment. They don’t leave a lot of room for moving around and the tables are too close together. Service is… well, it’s a cheap buffet! You don’t need to ask for your bill, it’s plonked on your table as soon as you get your first platefull. Pay on the way out. If you want a good, cheap Chinese meal, pop round the corner to the noodle bar in Leicester Square.

I’m gonna go against the grain on this one and give Mr. Wu 3 Stars. Sorry Lizzie. I’m a novice at Chinese food and all you can eat is usually for drunk nights or mornings) out. It was more money that the other buffets in China Town and it looked like locals were there. I figured«what the hell». The selection was good. The food was hot. Everything tasted pretty darn good. As a foody, I worry about getting to wound up with the fine details of eating. But hey, for £8.95 for all I can eat duck, lets call a spade a spade. It was good, cheap, clean and fast. I will go back. Perhaps even sober.

Should be zero stars. RUN far away. Is this place still really around? I have a picture of the ol’ original from 1997 up near Bayswater and it was the FIRST place we ventured after hours of traveling. Looking for a nice, hot, fresh meal. Figured, chinese, no worries right? Buffet? Easy — NO it was Shite. I’d review what I had that but I“m bloody not sure WHAT it was I had. awful, barely edible, I can still SMELL the godawful stench. 14 years later I come back to do a query and notice there is still«a» Mr. Wu. The location might have changed, the décor might be newer, but I know a rat when i see one(and hell, you’ll prob eat one here too). Stay far far away. Go find Wagamama.

I always believe that the sign of a good Chinese restaurant/buffet/all you can eat is that it is frequented by Chinese people. Mr Wu’s is one of these places. The food appears authentic, and although quite basic, is very tasty with lots of choice. There are dozens of more expensive chinese restaurants in the area where the food is better but then again you get what you pay for. I can’t understand why some people have quoted it costing them £8.50/person as it quite clearly states on the window £4.95 all you can eat. Its not really important that the service is poor(they don’t charge for it), it doesn’t really matter that they only clean the tables with tap water as you eat off plates which are hot when you take them out of the plate warmer, and the tables are far cleaner than most fast food establishments. It would be nice to get a smile out of the staff, other than when you are leaving, and it would be nice to be able to finish your meal before they drop the bill on your table as they are walking past, it would also be nice to be asked if you would like a drink when you sit down and not to have to chase a member of staff(although contrary to above comments, 2 people on our table were served tap water). Its fast and furious, get in eat your fill and leave, so who really cares that the service is not that great, you are not there long enough to worry about it and the most important element to any restaurant, THEFOOD, is excellent(and it is only £4.95).

The friendly man greeting people resembled someone I knew so I entered with a good feeling. You could also see a lot of people inside through the window so we assumed this restaurant would be okay. The buffet food is really terrible, though – poor variety, little taste, and unhealthy dishes. We also had to carry our food to the second floor up a narrow flight of stairs. The restroom in the basement was so horrible that you should probably not use it. Not-so-negative aspects of this restaurant were the staff was polite and I did not get sick from eating there. Despite being hungry, we ended up eating very little there because the food was so unappetizing. This restaurant is super cheap for a reason. Even if you are skint, avoid this place.

Mr. Wu number two. It’s like the James Bond’s evil villian’s sidekick. As a buddie of the original, that closed down a while ago, you would have thought the Wu family had learnt and improved their food. Even if it means putting the price up by a few pounds. If you haven’t already figured out — don’t go here. Not if you want to enjoy your food rather than just filling your belly.

DONTDOIT!!! As an American, I felt that everything was more expensive in London therefore I tried to find cheap eats while strolling in Chinatown. Yeah, it’s only five pounds… But it’s shit. It’s deep fried shit, steamed shit, stir fried shit and just shit shit shit. Sorry, no offense to the owner but it’s just the only way to describe it. Go elsewhere and pay about four pounds for decent, edible food.

Continuing my theme of fast cheap eats this evening, Mr Wu is part of a disturbing trend in Chinatown of pile ‘em high buffets. Judging from the proliferation of these places and the long queues snaking out of them, customers are being drawn in on the basis of price To be fair, the idea of eating as much as you can for as little as you can pay is very appealing. The choice of dishes is also cleverly chosen — while limited, it probably covers the few dishes which most westerners would order. However, expect gloopy, over sweet sauces, MSG loaded savoury dishes(the thirst after the meal is the clue) and over dry crispy dishes. I would highly recommend that you take yourself round to corner to somewhere like Wan Chai Corner where you can have a main dish for one person for around £4 at lunchtime and £5−6 at dinner, which is much better value for money at not much more cost

Point positif: on patiente assis!
