What a disgrace your staff are. Based on a recommendation I stopped in at 5.50 pm tonight and was told that you were closed and to come back in 30 minutes. I came back in 25 minutes only to be told that you had no tables available. Obviously you don’t cater to traveling single business men. A party of 4 or more loud mouths seems more your clientele. The attitude was beyond deplorable. Thankfully I have since researched your restaurant and found out the food is the same as your staff. Looks like I dodged a bullet. Amazingly I walked 1⁄3 of a mile and found another Indian restaurant that was packed but they found a table for one. Enjoying that experience now and look forward to rating the food.

I was pretty impressed with this place, good food and service, and the location can’t be beat if you are traveling through Paddington. I went back a couple of days later. One suggestion is to be sure to let them know if you like things spicy. My chicken tikka masala was quite tasty, but I’d have liked it with a bit more punch. My guess is that because I hesitantly wandered in off the street, they thought I might not know what I was in for.

Not sure why it’s so underrated we went somewhere else earlier in the week with more reviews and higher stars and this place is far superior!

Ate dinner here New Years Eve with my companion. DELICIOUS. Great service as well. Very friendly staff! Food came out very quickly and it was really good. We had the lamb saag, chicken jalfrezi(good spice level), veggie samosas, and the mulligatawny soup. We live in NYC and eat indian food regularly, and the quality here was so much better than any place we’ve eaten at in New York. Definitely recommend coming here!

Ended up missing out on this joint back in 2011 for a far more inferior place when I was here last due to the crowded atmosphere. Although Indian restaurants, let alone any good/service in Europe, is more expensive than American counterparts, the value of grabbing dinner for a good price lies in the thalis. I got a non-veg thali which came with a lamb kebab, chicken, vegetable curry, naan, and rice all for 12.95 pound sterling. Very good deal considering that reg entrees don’t come with rice or naan and that total value if both of those were purchased would be basically equivalent to thali influenced my decision. The quantity was definitely sufficient and would definitely recommend for family and friends!

Super friendly and great service. But the food is just average. One night in London and was hoping for something close to Paddington. Wrong pick. Might be ok for a fast lunch but a big disappointment for dinner.

Food was mediocre at best. Our dishes were overdone and bland. The service was rude and unprofessional. The prices suggested that this is a much better place than it is.

We ate here almost 2 years ago on a «one night, overnight» visit to London and remembered it fondly. When planning our next visit to London, we never considered dining anywhere else(although there are many restaurants around there). The staff was great(especially when we told them we were«repeat customers») — very friendly and attentive. We loved the food two years ago, and on this recent visit too. Had lamb bhuna(it could have been spicier, but it was really fine), paneer masala, and lamb saag with peshwari naan(good flavor but not enough raisins). Naan was thin-walled and crispy. Waiter was so friendly, he offered us a free drink at the bar on our way out! This restaurant was very close to our hotel, but we would travel a good distance to eat there again!

The service was quick and friendly. Unlike reviewers from years ago, we asked for water and got it. Nothing at all all was overly sweet as mentioned in prior views. Wife had chicken tikka and I had veggie plate. Both were well prepared and tasty. Overall great experience.

I happened by Mughal’s while searching for another restaurant, and I’m glad I did. It’s a delightful restaurant. The food was quite good, and was quite good. The staff is friendly and attentive. It’s definitely worth another visit.

EXCELLENTLOCATION EXCELLENTSERVICE FAMILYOWNED AUTHENTICSPICESANDFLAVORS HIGHQUALITYINBOTHFOOD&SERVICEFORPRICE The restaurant is on London Street and close to Paddington Underground, including serveral hotels in the neighborhood. A popular date night for visitors and even more popular for regulars and locals. I was in London for four nights and stayed in Paddington. London is famous for their food scene and I loved setting out to try and taste as much as possible. :D Being a big fan of Indian food myself I had to research the top places to try. Staying close to Mughal’s on my first night I liked the reviews enough to give it a taste. Despite being after the dinner rush(better for me), the staff was friendly, prompt, and helpful as ever. I shared the pre-arranged meal for 2 with my date. It was perfect for us looking for popular items to try, something mild in spices, and enough for 2. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and complimenting the other dishes. The service was attentive throughout our meal and my date and I chatted with our server for a bit sharing stories, as we were one of the last tables for the night. We enjoyed our first visit so much that on our last night of the trip we returned! The lads who work there are great craic and sound.

We came here after leaving Noorjahn because of rude service(see review). At first we were afraid of the same service as they seemed a bit short with us. We toughed it out and I’m glad we did. The service warmed up– and our food was delicious. My boyfriend had the lamb tikka and I had the aubergine(eggplant) dish. Way different than in the states but so much better. We had a great meal that was reasonably priced. If you want Indian in the paddington station, give your money to here and not Noorjahn.

My wife and I had the vegetarian thali and thought it was very good. Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful — we asked for explanations of the various food and got courteous answers every time. We’ll be coming back.

Lovely café with its personal appeal and nice, comfortable chairs and tables. The breakfast and lunch offerings are lovely and delicious so you can try the shop if you’re nearby.

Serviceable, but not fantastic Indian of the old school. Friendly staff, a menu full of old favourites, and reasonably priced. Note that there are also a couple of quite nice pubs within a very short distance, and it’s also very convenient for Paddington Station. I wouldn’t make a special trip, but I wouldn’t object to coming back.

Don’t be fooled by the number of people they have. The location is really all they have going for them. Service is a bit slow, but mainly the food is just bad. They use sugar in almost everything. The chicken tikka masala might as well have been the dessert. It was so sweet, we hardly touched it. The naan was a little sweet, and the pappadoms were oily and bland. The veggie samosa tasted like spring rolls. The only half decent item was the King Shrimp saag(with spinach). Otherwise, a disaster. Not cheap by any means and when the server asked how we liked our dinner, despite our telling him about the chicken tikka masala, he did absolutely nothing about it. If you don’t do anything about it, why bother to ask? A big fail. Will not be coming here again.

When we walked through the door, a man greeted us and seated us right away. Drink orders were taken and served promptly. We must have looked a bit dumb when ordering food because we wanted to order a special for two but the waiter must have misunderstood us, because once I ordered butter chicken for my part, he immediately left without asking for the rest of the items we wanted to choose. My boyfriend flagged the server down to explain our confusion, and the server asked what my boyfriend would like. He asked for a certain kind of lamb, but the waiter warned that it was very hot, so the waiter said he would bring something milder and left. So we were waiting, unsure of what we were getting. The food was pretty good. I guess we just aren’t very savvy at ordering Indian food in London.

Stopped here after a weary trip about London. Food was excellent. I had a Balti and pleased to say the thickness of the sauce was perfect for that type of dish. Often I have been given watery sauces when ordering Balti. The waiter service was really good. The waiter offered us suggestions and good knowledge of the dishes and wines. If anything they asked us too many times if we were OK… rather that than un-interested though. The House Rosé was good too. Not bad for £11 in London. I remarked on the Balti serving dish and said I liked it. Upon leaving after paying they presented me with a brand new serving dish and it still had the price tag on it. I was very pleased with this turn of events. Décor was a bit date otherwise it would have got a 5* review from me.

I did a search for indian restaurants in this area and got a few choices. I chose this one as it had more positive reviews that the others. The décor is somewhat older and a bit out dated. However, it was adequate. The seats and tables are quite close together so bear this in mind if you want an intimate meal. That said, I found the service excellent. Very attentive and friendly. The food is very good indeed and I would certainly recommend this based on that. Food is served quickly and the pricing is very reasonable for the area. I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good meal and reasonably priced with a good service

Is it just me, or is the food here waaay«sweeter»(and NOT in a good way) than that of other Indian restaurants? My family became rather tired of eating meal after meal of fish and chips on our trip to the UK and we’d heard that the British folk here are quite fond of Indian food, so we thought hey, the Indian food here must be quite enticing. Conveniently located near London Paddington station and our hotel, Mughal’s was the first Indian restaurant we spotted and decided to try. However, upon entering and sitting down at our table, things started to go downhill. First, after opting for tap water as our selected choice of beverage(water was divided into bottled aka expensive and tap aka no charge), our waiter proceeded to stand in a huddled circle with ALL the other staff, all of them casually chatting away like they weren’t supposed to be working at all and completely forgetting to give us tap water, which should take only 5 seconds. Then, whenever they deigned to acknowledge that there were customers in the restaurant, they repeatedly told my sister and me to scoot our chairs in(even when we were pressed right against our table) to get out of their way! It is important to note that on the menu, they state that 1) every single person must order a MAIN dish. however, my family managed to convince our waiter that 4 main dishes would be too much, so we got away with only ordering three. 2) a 10% gratuity will be automatically added into our bill. Now, 10% doesn’t sound like much in the US, but tipping in the UK is apparently unconventional. My friend, who grew up and attended college in the UK, repeatedly told me beforehand NOT to tip unless we really felt that we had received good service. The automatic tip in this restaurant is probably the cause of the waiters’ negligent customer service. As for the food, we ordered the: Butter Chicken — The sauce was thick, but too sweet. there were probably only 5 – 6 small pieces of chicken. Honestly, if the sauce weren’t so sweet, the flavor would have been pretty decent. Chicken Tikka Masala — Again, good spice flavor but too sweet! Half way through dinner, I started to wonder if they had accidentally added sugar instead of salt in their sauces. Saag Bhaji(spinach cooked with garlic, onions, and ghee) — This was our family’s preferred dish. It is originally a side vegetable dish, but we were required to upgrade it to a main dish for an additional £3. The spinach is finely«minced» and tastes as though it has been creamed with tasty spices. Garlic Naan(x3) — Because none of the dishes come with any rice, naan, or sides, we were basically required to buy some kind of carb to eat with our dishes. My parents though the naan was too oily for their taste, but I thought it wasn’t too bad and had a good chewy texture. In the end, our bill came down to a little more than £30, which was not worth the food and service! It’s strange because every time we passed by Mughal’s, it always appeared to be teeming with business, but our family can’t quite figure out why… TL;DR: Negligent waiter service, overly sweet dishes, dishes don’t come with rice/naan/sides, and very expensive prices for what you get!
