Excellent coffee location in the City — an environment that otherwise lacks character.
I’m surprised they haven’t put the nearby Costa out of business by now.
The staff are nice here and the chilled out music and décor provide a haven to have a meeting or chat. They also make a seamless transition into a wine bar at night time — once again providing a location with much more interesting wine and beer choices than most other bars in the nearby area.

I must admit that I struggle a little bit with the Notes mini chain. The raw ingredient, the beans, are absolutely fab. However, I find the experience of visiting the coffee shop itself slightly underwhelming. Perhaps, it is all a little bit corporate and too similar to the Starbucks experience for me.
This branch is their newest store, located under CityPoint, once the tallest building in the City. It feels much lighter and airier than the other outlets, thanks to plenty of glass. The outside seating is also a nice touch. Most importantly, the coffee really hits the mark. My double macchiato here yesterday was perfect. So much so, that my general observations above didn’t seem to matter so much anymore.

Notes coffee, food and wine is for the discerning person who really can tell the difference.
They seem to both care and understand about great coffee, food and wine.
I especially love all the many interesting and unique things they sell, which makes going there such a rarefied treat.
With so many of the normal mass produced chains and other places hoping people will not realise that they are basically serving junk. It is only when experiencing this place that genuinely serves great coffee for discerning customers, that I again realised how egregiously bad these other places are.
At Notes the subtle flavours and beautiful textures of their food, really evoked pleasures, that are just not present with the other establishments, who sacrifice what is most agreeable to the customer, because they care more about what is best for themselves.
I am so glad this place is here and it will really make my day much more worthwhile and shows how the other places really are so generic and bland. I could also tell that the customers Notes coffee, wine and food is attracting, are the kind of sophisticated clientele who can tell this as well.
