If you read Charles Dickens, you would probably know about the Old Curiosity Shop, and you can clearly visualise his writing when you see this place. It’s likely one of the oldest, if not the oldest, shops in London given that its been here since the 16th century I believe.
Situated near the London School of Economics (LSE), I often pass by this place on the way home but it actually took me quite a while to take my first step in the place. It sells coats and shoes, though I don’t see many people buying stuff from the place.
While this is not a tourist spot (any more) given the modern office and LSE buildings surrounding it, it remains a good place to take a look at if you’re a Dickens fan.

Dem Old Curiosity Shop ganz in der Nähe der Lincoln Fields, wird nachgesagt, er sei die Inspiration für Charles Dickens
gleichnamige Geschichte.
Ob es nun stimmt oder nicht, egal: Für mich ist es eine echte Londoner Attraktion– zumal das Gebäude aus dem Jahre 1567 stammt und somit das älteste Geschäft im Londoner Stadtkern ist.
Wenn man sich dies schöné Gebäude anschaut, bekommt man eine kleine Vorstellung davon, wie Lond zur Zeit des großen Feuers ausgesehen haben muss.
