Old Parrs Head

This pub has been closed since summer 2014 or before. Plenty of other choices nearby.

Visited with friends a few weeks ago and again on my own last week. Really friendly management and staff, great Thai food. Will definitely be back!!!

I was very disappointed to see the Bird in Hand pub had closed down the road; The Havelock Tavern was the next pub along this stretch, but too busy, so we carried on. And what good luck to do so. Not only was The Old Parr’s Head less overcrowded and noisy (there was music, but played at a decent volume allowing for good conversation), but it is also one of the most beautiful pubs I have discovered recently. How could I have missed it before?!
As many pubs, The Old Parr’s Head doubles up as a Thai restaurant. Unusually, the kitchen is positioned right next to the bar, and you can see the chef tossing your stir fry a nice touch.
Everything about this place is just right and it attracts a friendly neighbourhood crowd.
The beer garden during this miserable and rainy April was less impressive with the gazebo resembling an oversized ashtray, but it is probably lovely during the summer I am sure to return and find out!

I love the area I live in. The Old Parr’s Head is quite a nice pub, very popular with the locals, with a very friendly bar staff — and pretty decent Thai food. This might be one of the only places in London where you can have a Pad Thai with your Pale Ale in a typically English setting. Definitely a nice place to go if you happen to be in the Brook Green area!

The Old Parr’s Head is a nice little pub that’s worth seeking out if you’re in the area. As well as a pleasant atmosphere in the bar area, it boasts an award-​winning beer garden (who knew such awards existed?) at the rear, which is indeed very attractive: completely enclosed by red brick walls that are covered in climbing plants, the centrepiece is a sort of Buddhist shrine with dozens of candles that are lit at dusk.
If you want food, you can have anything you like as long as it’s Thai; it’s average but cheap and the service is good.
The pub also runs a great pub quiz on Monday evenings. Very friendly to newcomers.

This is a great little boozer tucked away between Shepherds Bush and Hammersmith. It’s a bit off the beaten track so it’s generally not too busy, you can get a seat and have a chat, but not so quiet you feel like you’ve walked into the slaughtered lamb. It’s got a good value thai restaurant, benches outside at the front, beer garden at rear, good beer, friendly staff. nuff said
