This time around I went along with the secretaries I work with to have a Alice In Wonderland inspired not afternoon tea experience held in the brasserie area. We was sat on long table that sat all 9 of us but I felt squashed. However view was amazing of London. The food I was served was ok it was miniature chocolate desserts and a baileys type cocktail. The food was quite nice but the cocktail was not very creamy watery in fact. I felt the price thst was paid for the experience was not worth the value. I also felt service was quite slack by the staff.

Ambiance: 5 stars! Up at the top of the OXO Tower with the most beautiful views of London along the Thames. Modern vibes with simple elegance. I love that the kitchen is right in the middle and is open for all to see.(I have a weird thing with hidden kitchens… what are they hiding!) Service: 5 stars! We had a booking for 4 people and made the booking almost 2 months prior. My in-laws were in town from the States and it was our last meal together before they left. We wanted this to be special. The day before the dinner, I called to confirm my booking and had asked for a table window. The lady assured me that we would have one. However when we arrived, we were sat right smack dab in the middle of the restaurant — no window! I spoke with the hostess and she immediately apologised and moved us to a window seat. PERFECT! Our server was also awesome. Gave great recommendations and was very attentive. Food: 5 stars! I had the pork belly. Uhh-maz-ing! It was cooked perfectly. It was perfectly tender with a nice crisp, sweet edge. The lentils on the side were also some of the best I’ve ever had. And for dessert I had the vanilla brown sugar mousse. So good! Presentation was also on par! My only knock would be the drinks. I had 2 martinis, both were good. But not great. VERY expensive for what you get. I think they were really weak. Add a little more alcohol or lower the price a bit. Overall, GREAT place to go to impress someone or for a special celebration.

I wanted to go to the OXO Tower for so long, since we have been working next to it for almost a year now. So we decided to go for a lunchtime cocktail on my birthday. It’s really surprising that the bar is on the 8th floor as that is not as high as you’d expect, so you can have a great view but also be close enough to the river, which is exactly what I wanted. The cocktails are all very nice, there’s a great selection and an icon of the glass they are served in next to each one. My friends used that to narrow down their search as they said some glasses look too girly or like they contain less drink in them. Personally I choose by the ingredients so rum, tequila and blue curaçao are always favourites. If they also happen to have a funny name then that’s a bonus. I tried the corpse reviver(the blue one in the photos) and it was quite strong but very nice. Despite it fun bright colour it’s not one of those you drink really fast; you definitely need to take your time. I don’t see me making the OXO tower a regular haunt but I would go back for another special occasion for sure like another birthday or something.

Came here to celebrate an anniversary as we had been here before, many years ago and I always said I would come back!(Took longer than I thought) As I had told them when I booked that it was a special evening they actually read what I wrote and reserved us a window table. If you get in there earlier than us you might actually be able to eat outside on the balcony, our reservation was to late to do this, which was a shame as the evening temperature was good and the view not blemished by cloud or rain. I won’t lie it was crowded and noisy. The volume of talking was such that you could nearly hear the live band(I use the word band loosely as it was just two of them) over the collective chatter if everyone in the restaurant. The staff were attentive, keeping our wine on ice and topping up when needed. I always think that in a busy resturant the staff responsible for this do exceptionally well to not confuse people’s wines but also to keep your glass topped up at the right moment is an admirable skill. The food was not spectacular but it was good. I think with the eateries around the area they do get by on the location and views this provides as opposed to the food being outstanding. I was a little stunned that when at just after 23:30 I tried to order another drink they told me the bar had shut… All in all I do like the OXO tower and will endeavour to get back there sooner rather than later.

There are very few restaurants that are satisfying in all aspects, but the Oxo Tower Brasserie was definitely one of them. My friend and I had reservations here for 8:15 pm and upon arriving we were warmly greeted by the reception. After storing our umbrella and giving us a claims ticket, the hosts immediately showed us to our table — which was not on the main window side(with the view of the river) but the other side. As for food, I opted for the Jasper-grilled spring chicken. After ordering we went outside because of the gorgeous view(it was around sunset time) and stayed there for around 30 – 40 minutes taking pictures(don’t judge). We were worried that our food came while we were outside and would become cold, but we were happy to see when we came back that our food hadn’t arrived yet — probably because our waiter noticed we were outside, so thank you to our lovely waiter for accommodating our photography needs! When the food arrived I already had a good feeling. The presentation was beautiful and the chicken smelled absolutely amazing. My first bite did not disappoint. The chicken was tender and had an INCREDIBLE flavor which was mostly the work of the pesto, in my opinion. Yet it was nice because the flavor of the chicken was still preserved — the sauces and seasoning only worked to enhance the natural flavor. The complements to the chicken were also tasty, but the poultry was definitely the star. After finishing our mains we ordered the trio of Taywell nice-creams. Oh my god. These were AMAZING. Words cannot describe how much I loved this dessert. My favorite out of the three ice creams was definitely the baobab and chia seeds. The texture was amazing(props to the chia seeds) and the taste was heavenly. The other flavors were also enjoyable and I thought all three complemented each other very well. Overall, I loved my experience here. It’s been one of my favorite(possibly THE favorite) dining experiences in London so far and I HIGHLY recommend this place if you’re looking to have a quality dinner with a view and great service.

My expectations had more than likely built up over the years from the recommendations of the OXO Tower, but it just didn’t quite live up to it. We had pre booked and arrived and we were escorted into the already full bar to grab a drink and had to stand in the most awkward places. We then went back to the front of house asking why our table wasn’t ready and we were informed they had a table at the back ready but we’re making one up at the front which had better views. We decided to wait and when we were called for our table we realised it was NOT worth the wait. We were sandwiched in between so many other tables and were nowhere near the windows to see the«view» clearly. Please note this is about the Brasserie and not the main restaurant. It was very clostrophobic, extremely noisy because of the amount of people packed into the small area and the open kitchen and décor felt very dated. To top it off our table wasn’t cleaned properly and still had the previous customers drink stains all over. We ordered cocktails, one came with the set three course menu and was pretty nice. We then ordered a second from the menu and were disappointed, it felt like they had skimped on the alcohol. The starter then came and picked us up. Tasty-ish dish that got me a little excited again about the visit. The mains were also nice, my partners dish was great but mine was slightly on the small side. The desserts were the stars though and I wish I just had three of those. We were lucky about the set menu and the prices. You get what you pay for, plus some. I would never order off the a la carte it’s way overpriced. Overall the food was good but the atmosphere and service do not justify the high prices. One to tick off the list but I won’t be returning.(Visit — 25/01/2015 Dinner)

One of my favourite restaurants ever. View is spectacular on the river. Ambience with a piano player is lovely. Food is absolutely delicious. High prices but worth it for a special occasion!

I went here with a group of friends to celebrate my 30th birthday last summer. On arrival we were given the option of dining inside or outside, so as it was a sunny day we opted for outside on the balcony, overlooking the Thames and St Pauls Cathedral in the background. Amazing views over London. The service here was good, as was the ambience. The evening flowed very nicely, and the food was very nice. It can be expensive but as a celebratory meal it was worth it. Highly recommend a visit.

Quality mixed-cuisine meal with a great view. My second visit for lunch at the brasserie after a refreshing«Not Afternoon Tea» on Queen’s Jubilee. Enjoyable quality food of different cuisines. Set menu is reasonably priced and includes a cocktail. Friendly service, though not always up to speed. Scenic view over Thames. One of the best restaurants on the South Bank so far.

Amazing views across from the City, great food and service. The Brasserie is less expensive than the adjoining restaurant, but I think you get a similar experience in both. It’s run by the Harvey Nichols restaurant group, so it’s stylish as you would imagine.

Met some friends that live in London for dinner at their suggestion. Best meal we had in London. Get there early if you don’t have a reservation but if you have time to make one do it. Great views of the city. It’s beautiful. Will be eating there again when we visit next time.

I was rolling solo in London when I realized, you know what Anna, you deserve a fancy meal overlooking the Thames, you’ve been through a lot these past few days and it’s about time you treated yourself. Low and behold, a nice man that I had basically met on craigslist(I sold him my Kate Bush ticket! Thanks for not murdering me Paul from craigslist!) recommended I visit the OXO tower and after looking at their prix-fixe menu, I was sold. I made a reservation online, YEATABLEFORONESOWHAT. And the next day, I put on my cutest outfit, and committed to being a FANCYCLASSYGIRL for the afternoon. Service was impeccable, I was seated at the edge of the restaurant, right beside the ceiling to floor windows that showcased the Thames view. The server was attentive, polite and was generally very lovely, I felt quite at ease. After being offered water and picking out my wine, I quickly settled on my prixe fixe choices. Stilton Salad — They really loaded this salad with cheese, and being an animal about almost any kind of cheese(it’s like the chef’s at OXO Brasserie knew my soul) I was delighted and went to town on that salad. It had a nice balance of savory and sweet as the grapes were the perfect pairing to the Stilton. Salmon — YASCHILD. Most perfect salmon ever, crispy skin, fish was both moist and luxuriously flakey and rich. I INHALED that whole dish. Lemon brûlée — You can’t really go wring with Brulee. But I was so full at this point that I had about 4 spoonfuls and called it a day. In my heart of hearts I would have loved to finish it. The Staff here was lovely, the food was even lovelier, and the view is to die for.

Amazing meal, best we had in London by a long shot. Go early and you can get into the brasserie without a reservation. We arrived at 6 and were told the table was needed by 7:30 but that was totally fine. Also, we missed the dinner special on the menu as it was over at 6. We decided to ask if it was available still and voila, it was! The pumpkin risotto, salad, and dessert was absolutely amazing. I’d highly, highly, recommend them all… and I’m blanking on what I ordered for dessert but I know it was delish! A bit pricey but well worth it for the quality of food.

So, Unilocal has a listing for the Oxo tower restaurant, but not the brasserie, which is by the same owners but occupy a separate space, with a more casual flair to it. It seems to specialize in brunch, and there were quite a few groups there celebrating Christmas Eve early. We simply walked in before noon and got a seat. After 12:30pm the place filled out rather quickly, so maybe we were just lucky. I had the Cornish cod with saffron potato purée, baby fennel, crispy shrimp, and shellfish cream. The cream tasted rather like a shrimp bisque, and the crispy shrimp was simply wonderful. The cod actually paled in comparison to everything that accompanied it. We also got a side of rosemary sea salt chips — however, they just felt like regular chips(or French fries if you prefer that term), and I couldn’t detect any hint of rosemary in it. They have a couple different stickies, and spiked coffee drinks for after the meal, which is very nice. The service was decent and attentive, and if you are lucky, you might get a seat with a good view out of one of the giant glass to ceiling windows. There seemed to be some outing seating as well for when the weather is nice — although I suspect that doesn’t happen too often ;)

Best view in town I prefer the Brasserie to the Restaurant. Great for a simple dinner with friends. Have drink at the bar before dinner. Fish is nice there, and service fast. However it can get pretty noisy.

The view is amazing Arrive early and sip cocktails ! By good weather the terrace is open to view the sight of London. The food is excellent in both the informal brasserie(near the bar) and the more up-market restaurant(I actually prefer the brasserie). Fab for a romantic meal or a night out with girls.
