Packhorse & Talbot

One of Chiswick’s finest and favourite-​st pubs. One of the 2 – 3 pubs (out of a million?!) on the high street you can rely on for sports screenings.
We have been here many, many times and love it. The last time we were there, it was the cricket T20 World Cup finals. and the manager was brilliant enough to switch 2 screens to cricket just for us.
Food wise no complaints at all. Have had the moistest burgers and creamiest of curry lunches here.
Service is good always… very particular about checking on the table to check if the food is okay. I know most places do this… but the vibe here seems more warm and concerned.

Great pub to go watch football/​sports on the weekends, and the food is really good too.
For a long time I avoided this pub, thinking it looked a bit too dark, empty & grim. Part of that is because it’s quite a large premise, so it never really fills up. This makes is excellent for watching sports as it’s neither rowdy or difficult to find a seat with a good view of the multiple screens scattered around.

Good size pub with live sport on TV, pub food and good areas to relax with friends and family, little seating area outside. Recently re-​decorated and fresher, nice atmosphere and friendly staff and good service. would recommend.

All in all not my kind of pub.
Possibly on sundays I would recommend this pub. Share a nice bottle of wine with your significant other or a small group of friends and enjoy the jazz sessions at 7pm. It is a relaxing way to close the weekend and begin the week. Maybe get some of their nibbles but I would recommend to have an early dinner somewhere else. Their food is just not very good, in comparison to other places you can go to in the area.
The pub is really big and has that pub feel everywhere, wooden pillars, navy blue and burgundy carpets, a fire place and a rear patio.
A couple of more predictable ales (Pride at £2.75) were on offer but the range of clientele showed they could still entice the older geezers, who come for the cheap pub grub and a read of the Sun, whilst also attracting flat sharers and young groups of friends.
It is very obvious this place is part of a generic chain of pubs, but the service is very friendly cheerful and witty, so a good three stars for the horse!
