Piccolino is an interesting one. Located just off Regent Street on a more quite lane; it’s a restaurant that looks quite elegant/posh from the outside, but surprisingly friendly in it’s pricing point. While I’m not saying it’s like dirt cheap; the ~£13−15 price point for a pasta dish is not unreasonable in this side of town. Yes it is on the pricy end if you just wanted to fill your stomach; but the alternative around this area is really just Pret or sandwiches of other sorts. Service was great; the complimentary bread is always a plus! Pasta was really tasty(probably cause we were quite hungry at that point), and portion is not overly lacking. If i have to give it a fair assessment, i think it’s more a £10−12 dish, but i suppose you have to pay for the location and the ‘complimentary’ bread. meh~ All In all, I enjoyed the meal.

I am aware of Piccolino as a brand and thought as we were in London we would give this place a go. It is a wonderful location first of all and of course the Processco goes down the hatch very easily. We had half a dozen Oysters with lemon and chilli which were creamy, salty and very fresh they were a bargain at £11. The mains were amazingly tasty aswell and the cocktails worked so very well for us. I can highly recommend a visit and Giuseppe the general manager was so friendly, warm and caring. You can get down there aswell with funky tunes at the downstairs bar with the music DJ if you fancy a boogie.

Came as part of a promotion, I was given for a free £20 in points on their loyalty card to spend in any of their restaurants. The first time we also enjoyed a free glass of prosecco as part of a valentines promotion. We ordered the meat and cheese platter, it was very tasty and they bought us lots of bread, definitely on the pricey side though — but that is to be expected with cured meats. The only part I didn’t enjoy as much was the mozzarella as I find it a bit flavourless. The second visit was to try out their Sunday roast. £27.50 for two and you can choose between pork, chicken or beef, we opted for the beef. While we waited we are some more of their delicious bread, the also sat us at a table right next to it al l(I wanted to to sneak some out when I left). The beef arrived presented on a board with two cups of roasted potatoes and a small jug of gravy, we were also given a plate of mixed greens to go with it. The meat was delicious cut into big slices and not and more on the rarer side(so you may want to ask if you prefer it more well done). I would definitely go back for the food, the drinks are a bit more on the pricey side but the service is great. They even have an outdoor area for when it’s warmer(although there were heaters).

Every time I’m in London I head straight for this restaurant. We had no reservation and the place was packed. They were accommodating and made space for us. Delicious wines. Great service and delicious Milan style Italian fare. We had the breaded pounded veal chop. Chicken with mushrooms. Seafood risotto. Arugula endive salad with prosciutto and pears. Mozzarella tomato salad. Calamari was delicious and really tender but kind of small. It’s ALL good here!!!

Pretty average food, and the service was poor. Took a long time to bring our drinks and we were not offered any water which made getting through the rather salty food more of a Herculean task than one would have expected. It’s a shame that the service and food let down the great location of the retardant. Hopefully this was a one-off but I’m sceptical about that. Maybe try another restaurant in the court, and if you fancy Italian, head over to Strada next door. Enjoy.

This is the worst restaurant I’ve been in London great location and nice facility but a poor service! I was treated like they were doing me a favor… If I had that kind of investment I would be careful for the service they abuse costumes because of the location! Shame on you!

Once again food was fabulous and Duane and Andre provided perfect service. Gotta try the warm chocolate fondant and salted caramel ice cream.

I’m going to have to buck the trend of reviews for Piccolino and say that I was actually quite disappointed with my experience here. We walked past the empty heated patio area into the main restaurant and asked if they had any seating for two, expecting to be led back outside to dine in comfort. But no, we were seated at one of the small silver tables by the bar, on rickety bar stools with barely enough room for ourselves let alone any food or drinks. The menu is a tad complicated. There are two prices for some things, representing a small and large option. I’ve never been in a restaurant where I could order a smaller version of the meal. Bit weird. But okay. I went for a small Caesar salad and Matt R. went for a large crab ravioli. When it came, we just sat in silence. I had a HUGE plate of chicken, salad, crispy pancetta and anchovies(wait, what? That wasn’t on the description…) in front of me. Matt, on the other hand, had six pieces of ravioli. Well, clearly there’s been a mix-up, right? Large salad and small ravioli instead of the other way around? NOPE. Apparently 4 — 6 pieces of ravioli is a large. I can’t imagine what their small is like. For £13, six pieces is ridiculous. And as someone who only wanted a light salad, a bowl overflowing with dressing, chicken, fish and meat was too much. WAY too much. After we’d eaten(which was difficult in itself because of how little space we had — I had to put my arm on the top of a booth so I could get the fork to my mouth) we asked for the bill and waited. And waited. And waited some more. After half an hour had gone by and no bill had appeared, we asked again. And again. On the third ask, a bill finally appeared, nearly 40 minutes after we’d finished eating. We’d just been forgotten, left there, abandoned. Not pleasant. The service charge is set at 12.5% and we asked to pay a smaller amount after being ignored for ages. It then took the guy three attempts to get the card machine to work. He entered the whole amount, bill plus service charge, and then skipped past the page you’re supposed to enter the tip in, which gave us a bit of an uncomfortable insight into how they get the full amount most of the time. Answer: they don’t give you a choice. After another two goes culminating in Matt taking the card machine off him and doing it himself, we were out of there. I’m sure if you book in advance and get an actual table, it’s lovely. But for us, it was stressful, inconsistent and uncomfortable.

Overall we really enjoyed our night at Piccolino. It’s a nice restaurant with great service, good ambience, and conveniently tucked away off Regent Street. I didn’t realize this until after our stay but it’s been recently renovated. We took a bit of time deciding what to order and the staff were very nice about it. I had a great glass of wine and we enjoyed the free bread, which was very good. We split a starter of calamari which was probably some of the best we’ve had(and we order it regularly), so that was a great start to the meal. For seconds, I had veal escaloppe which were wonderful and a very large portion! It was definitely salty, which may not appeal to all, but I loved it! My partner had the frutti di mare risotto which, although the seafood was good, the risotto itself was a bit bland. As both portions were generous, we only had a glass of dessert wine to cap off the night although the desserts did sound tempting. After our stay, I received a survey(we booked online) and I mentioned the bland risotto. I got a nice email back from the manager apologizing and saying they will take that on board. I would definitely go back here and in fact I’m planning a visit when my parents are next in town!

Piccolinos is a fabulous Italian restaurant & quickly becoming one of my favourite places to dine in the West End. It was refurbished recently & is a lovely eaterie with a great menu & cheerful, attentive waiters. I’ve been here twice now for business lunches & was highly impressed by the quality of food. The home made ravioli was absolutely divine with amazing flavours bursting through. It’s very rare to find such great home made ravioli outside of Italy but this roast butternut squash, amaretti biscuits, hazelnuts & sage delight was mouthwateringly delicious. I’ve also had the Spiedini di pesce with scallops, king prawns & swordfish skewers marinated in oregano, chilli & lemon which were absolutely heavenly! I would highly recommend visiting this place, there is no doubt it is one of the best little Italians that doesn’t cost the earth in London.

I love this restaurant! This seems to be the restaurant of choice when my girlfriends and I meet up for dinner and it always delivers. They have a great cocktail menu — the Appletini is one of my favourites — and the food never disappoints. When I was last at Piccolino, I had the Trofiette, chicken, parmesan cream and pine nuts — and it was delicious! The best part about Piccolino is that they always let you take your time and you never feel rushed. Some of the dinners I’ve had at Piccolino have lasted four hours as my friends and I get caught up in the tide of good fellowship and yet the staff at Piccolino are never rushing you out the door — they let us take our time. It’s a great place!

My first meal in London was at Piccolino, and I still smile just thinking about it. I had checked into my hotel, showered the 8 hour flight off of me, and set out to explore and eat. I stumbled upon all the restaurants on Heddon Street and decided on Piccolino because their patio was open. The idea of sitting outside in December made this Chicago gal GIDDY. I was seated next to one of the patio heaters, and between that and the delicious prosecco I was very warm and happy. I ordered a margherita pizza and DAMN… I swear, just being closer to Italy makes everything better. It was hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life. As I sat on the patio, drinking delicious bubbly and eating delicious food, I was kind of taking it all in and the woman at the next table leaned over and said, «this is the life, isn’t it?» It is. It really, really is.

We went there last Sunday for a lunch. The restaurant was reopened after a renovation. The waiters were very kind. We had Minestrone, very good, nicely flavoured. My wife and I ordered some fish, very well prepared. The kids had pasta, the were very happy. Kids had Tiramisu or Ice cream, they were delighted. And on top off, while they reopened they offered us the meal, we only had to pay our drinks. We had a quick talk with the manager(my daughter said it was George Clooney), we said we will re command this restaurant to all our friends in Belgium. TOP!

Loud and packed with family fun. Headed in for a glass of wine and not sure I’d come back for dinner unless I could sit on the heated patio. I mean it’s really loud. A handfull of glasses both white and red by the glass and decent bottle. Reservations available via Opentable so take advantage of that.

So… we both were walking and hunger monster strikes… and when i get hungry Im get so cranky… and same with the girlfriend she was very hungry too. So we said the next place that serves food boom lets do it up. So we turn on to Heddon Street, and there is a world of little, yet big restaurants. We sit on the patio in the first place waiting 10minutes I even asked for menus, but hunger is becoming me and I would have ripped someones head off if i didnt eat soo. So we head over to Piccolino, boom service straight away. Brought to our seat in the large busy patio surrounded by groups of friends and people in suits. So it was a mixed place, very relaxing from the street its juts off, Regents St. We ordered some wine and a pizza. The waiter was a very nice, but he seemed cautious not to talk or converse with his customers as there was 3managers ourside, from what it looked like. He was our age and would have been handy if we could have talked to him about places to go and eat etc. But he was an extremely good waiter just wished we could have talked to him a but more The Chenin Blanc, Paarl Heights… GET it… YUMYUM!!! our pizza was huge enough for both of us… and the base was so thin ab perfect.

I am not sure why Piccolino has such mixed reviews. I’ve been here a few times and it’s been great every time. It’s not getting 5 stars purely because that’s reserved for a select few including Da Mario on Gloucester Road and Pizzeria on the Green in Clapham, but it’s still a great place, centrally located with good food and a good atmosphere. Best enjoyed on a warm summer evening in the outside seated area, before all the hen parties arrive at Strawberry Moons next door.

Piccolino has a wonderful location, just off Regent’s Street in a very charming little street and lots of outdoor seating. I imagine this place would be wonderful for sipping ice-cold drinks and relaxing the summer sun(that is, when there is sun in London.) I came here last week with some friends and I cannot say I was too impressed with the food despite my friends raving about how good it was, and how they always went to the one in Bristol. I had the arrabiata with spicy Italian sausage, and the only word I can use to describe the food is greasy, It was so oily I could see a visible rim around the place, the sauce was thick and lumpy, and I can make better at home, which is not why I pay for someone else to make a meal for me. Not impressed at all. That said, the poached egg and asparagus starter that two of the party had, looked amazing. But it did not live up to its hyped-up review by some of the others. The only reason I’d come back, is for the on-the-street seating. It seems like it could have a lovely ambiance. Shame about the food.
