I’ve now been to this place a couple of times and have walked away happy and full both times. It is only a short walk from the station, but far enough away from Westfield to lose the shopping centre feel. It doesn’t look like much from the outside. The outside appearance is actually a bit dodgy. Once inside the atmosphere greatly improves. It is very intimate with only room for about 20 people. Last night, the atmosphere was very intimate with candle lighting. It was perfect for a date night. The food is very good and authentic. I believe that the place is run by a family. I’ve been to Thailand and the food here is just as good. The prices are also very good. We really enjoyed our evening here and will definitely come again. It’s nice to see small local shops opening in Stratford. Eating dinner in a shopping mall, for me personally, would be a nightmare. Whenever we are in Stratford we will be coming here for dinner!

This restaurant only have two types of food one is amazing and the other one is super amazing! You have to try the coconut milk soup as my friend said it was heavenly. Chicken wings in the starter are also excellent. Just order whatever in the menu. No disappointment at anything there even the dessert!

A little hidden gem in Stratford. Absolutely brilliant food and such warm almost-like-home service. Authentic food and such a relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely invite more friends next time. I had a selection of their various vegetarian offerings while I ordered my friend some of the beef, chicken and pork dishes. Can’t wait to go again!

This hidden away gem has the best Thai Food in the East End… Their Hot and Sour Soup is incredible which is served in a large metal container which is supplied with a large amount of prawns… in total you get four bowls worth which is great for the price and the prawns are cooked beautifully… I also went for the Salmon and I cannot tell you how good this restaurant is for their seafood… the salmon was PERFECTLY cooked in rich sauce that wasn’t too heavy or overpowering… I would really recommend this place to anyone with Thai leanings or fan of great quality seafood…

Nearly walked past this restaurant in the pouring rain before recognizing it last night, but it was amazing nonetheless. First off, the food is great. All of it. We had the fried prawn and spring roll starters… Very good, though the spring rolls aren’t too different from most places that do them so I might suggest going for something else where they’re concerned. Based off another review here we decided to split a tom yum prawn soup, and it definitely lived up to expectations! It was one of the best soups, if not THE best soup, of my life. Comes in a big metal thing with enough soup for three bowls worth, they definitely don’t scrimp on the prawns either. Entrees were salmon with black bean and salmon with garlic and chili, both of which were great but my partner & I preferred the black bean, as the way the salmon was cooked was really tender and flavorful. Beers and wine by the glass or bottle are really reasonably priced and the whole place has a very cozy atmosphere from the inside(though it’s not much to look at on the outside). Such a great restaurant and a real hidden gem… can’t wait to go back and try dessert!

My father has been here a few times before and introduced my sister and I to this place yesterday. The outside is not much to look at, and the place itself is rather small it can’t fit that many people. I like that it’s a café by day and thai food by night — I’ll have to come back and try the café food but we went in the evening. There were candles on every table which was nice. All the seats were scratched which might cause you a little discomfort but it’s a minor thing. Unexpectedly — the food was amazing! The Tom Yum(i think it was called that — it was a hot and sour soup with prawns in) soup was literally the best soup I’ve ever had in my entire life! And this dish call the Pla Ra Prig(I think) it was fish in a garlic and chilli sauce — was outstanding! I like that you can change dishes to how you like it as the fish dish was supposed to be salmon but we asked for it to be with white fish. I ordered stir fired beef with ginger and asked for extra chilli but when it came there was no chilli at all in the dish — I suppose they just forgot, the place was very busy; and the beef was a tad on the chewy side. The Thai fishcakes were lovely as was the pad thai(unsure if I got the name right) it was noodles with prawns and egg and carrot it was very sweet. Overall I had a good time, the food was to die for especially the fish dish and the soup which were perfect. The staff were friendly and nice. All the dishes were reasonably priced. I will definitely be coming back here!

A greasy spoon Thai restaurant. Ramshackle tables and chairs, rough and ready but… Amazing food and cheap. Busy all the time, expect to share a table with speedy, friendly service. Great value if you want really good food in a traditional British café surround. I eat there all the time.

I went there a couple of times on various occasions, mostly because it’s rather cheap and across the street from where I live. The chairs and tables are worn out service quite slow and weird — it all kind of feels like it’s coming directly from the ‘40s… But food is good, authentic, and you can really have a good time without spending too much money!(My last mail: 1 starter, 1 dessert, 3 dishes, 2 glasses of wine = £32).

We found this place on a list of interesting restaurants in east London and we were not disappointed. Had we not known it was open we might have walked right by as the lights were so dim and only lit by candle in the front. When we came here it felt like we were newbies in a restaurant of regulars. We didn’t, but you can bring your own wine if you’d like to. The thai food here is really good but the restaurant looks like it was built and never thought about again so it’s good they keep it quite dim in here. I hear that it’s a proper café in the day time but haven’t seen it for myself, would probably only come here for dinner for the yummy thai.

This place is amazing. There are so many over priced thai restaurants in London, and the Pie Crust isn’t one of them. The staff are attentive and friendly, the menu is vast, and although the inside may not look like anything special, and it could do with a drastic upgrade, I would hands down say that it is the nicest Thai food I have ever eaten. Annoyingly, it is a cash only restaurant, but as there is an ATM just across the road, and the food is at the standard that it is at, it can be forgiven. I will definitely go here again, and would recommend it to anybody who loves Thai food.

I have pass by this restaurant everyday, its looks like any other small cafes, probably 30 – 40 seats. I have been told by friends its a good Thai restaurant, I am sceptic, been to a few, and they don’t look like that, especially if it serves café food in the morning. COMEON — you are pulling my leg here. But gave it a try, after two years moving to Stratford — man I missed out, prices are decent, you can bring your own drinks, and the vibe inside is very homey, and ambient — went for dinner with the lads btw. Brilliant Thai food, not as spicy as I would like, tried a dish from each of the category, beef, prawn, chicken, starters, soup etc. not bad, impressive. The experience does feel like its home cook food. The staff was friendly, but slow, I am guessing because it was busy and why wouldnt it be. The food was delicious. Tip: I would probably try the starter its in own right, rather than mix platter.

I have just joined Unilocal and went to my favourite Thai to find it had not been reviewed! If you have found this review then you have found a gem! I spent 2 months travelling Thailand and I swear I still like the food here best! Family run they are absolute sweethearts. Satay chicken you’ll fall in love with and a Pad Thai to die for! Beef & ginger so good. It is all really reasonable as well, two people can absolutely stuff their faces for £25. Forget the Olympics. this is the only reason to come to Stratford!

Not many people know this, but this café is in fact a bit famous. It was used during several scenes in the file ‘Bronco Bulldog’ which opened the East End film festival in 2010. It feature in the trailer for the film here, where they break into it, I hope the owners watch it… Video link: I’ll rate the food as soon as I’ve eaten there! Cheers! P.

I love this place, basically a café that does Thai food of an evening and the weekend, was put onto it over 15 years ago and have been going ever since! Don’t be put off by the grim looking net curtains and the fact it looks shut. A very welcoming Thai couple run the place and it was sad when they stopped doing the Thai food for a few years, but it has now been back for 4 and is still very good, full of locals popping in for take aways too. Bring your own if you want, but thai beer is available. all very reasonable. Try the soups! If 2 of you leave after 2 – 3 courses and a couple of beers having spent more than 30 quid I would shake your hand!
