No matter how hunger you are do not Eat at the Pinner Chef ! They do not deliver, they do not take credit cards but they do have plenty of sub standard Chinese food .Also why are there no hygiene stars score on the door. Why they want their customers to see the grotty take away is a mystery

I had tried the food twice recently — unfortunately I suspect my selections were not right or may be it was one of those days as the previous reviews have rated this highly. The previous review explains exactly what this joint it — it is a quintessential Chinese Takeaway. I had a good chat with the Chef and apparently this opened in 1988 and has a lot of local regulars. This time around we ordered Chicken Balls but we substituted Sweet and Sour sauce with black been(the Chefs wife who takes the order told me that I will be charged extra). We ordered a portion of Veg Dumplings and a Singapore Noodles. The total came to around £15. It took all of 20 mins to get the food ready so it was quick. Now came the most important part — verdict on the taste. The dumplings were not cooked properly and the filing was bland. The Chicken Balls were OK but while the batter was tasty the meat was bland. Singapore Noodles was average. Overall good marks for the price, speed of delivery but fails when it comes to taste.

The Pinner Chef harks back to the Chinese takeaway of my youth. You can’t eat in and they don’t deliver, but it’s well worth the trip to come and collect food from here. For starters — curry rolls. Never seen them anywhere else and I love(read LOVE) them. They little parcels of spicy mince wrapped in a fluffy spring roll/batter style body. The Singapore noodles are brilliant too and comes in a huge portion — well worth it. These aren’t the same bland noodles found elsewhere but are punchy and have a generous volume of meat and prawns. We also recommend the chicken balls — never greasy and the sweet and sour sauce has just the right consistency. The shredded chilli beef is dry, crispy and so, so, good. Basically this place doesn’t try to be anything but a counter based Chinese takeaway, but when the food is this good, why bother?
