Could there be anything better than park views, with the sun shining off the side of the Shard in the distance while having your morning coffee/brunch/lunch? This place has it all. Gets a bit crowded around lunchtime(all the kids & their parents come in after taking the kids for a run around the park) but the food is good honest food and the coffee is pretty good. Great selection of food for kids and parents — their sandwiches are fresh and generously filled. I really do love this place.

This is a great place for meeting up with friends. It’s spacious in the summer with the wonderful weather(I know, wonderful weather in Brockley, weird right!?) forcing you to sit outside :). In the winter it’s so cosy inside. You can still sit outside if you like being cold, each to their own. There is a great selection of cakes and the coffee is reasonably priced(to drink in or take away). Really great place for catching up with friends and offers a good meeting point for locals. They sometimes get a bit overwhelmed when it’s busy and can take a bit longer to get your food/drink but it’s not horrendous that you’re legs will fall off or it will turn seasons by the time you get it, so that’s not a biggie. Enjoy

This as yet un-Yelped spot is a fantastic little find. Fair enough, you might need to be far out of the city to appreciate it, but if you’re wandering lonely and fancy a brew whilst in the park this should be your stop off. The whole building has an eco feel, like some kind of log cabin, which continues on inside. Behold the blankets on the shelf for the colder months, freshly made delicious sandwiches for arounnd £2.50(not kidding), an array of delectably homemade cakes, and some really great coffee. The staff are all friendly, and the vibe has a real community feel to it. There’s a board on one of the walls with keys hooked on, and a sign saying«are these your keys?» They also have numerous pieces of literature on local events, including their own, which seems like a regular affair — some kind of swap shop and vintage fair. Man, I wish I’d been staying long enough to take a look. The seating outside allows for respite under the big trees, whilst wee ones of the customers next to you run around playing in the autumnal air, trip over and apologise to the pigeons, «Sorry birds!», and then find sticks that catch wolves and feathered friends.(True story.) It really doesn’t feel like you’re in London. And that walk up that steep hill will make you feel like you’ve earned this little slice of green, warm, and peaceful paradise. I highly recommend.
