rude staff, dreadfull food, tiny pizzas. On the up side, they have painted the shopfront recently.

Pizza. Ok this is not going to be a rave review as Pizza Express are a long way from their 1965 Wardour Street original restaurant. My father went to the opening and my sister and I spent many 70’s trips into town with our dad, during summer holidays, and Pizza Express was always a favourite. Back then a thin crust pizza with capers and anchovies et al on the top was a real authentic experience and we loved it. And so perhaps my returning to Pizza Express is based on a little bit of nostalgia. But back to this restaurant… The pizza’s are a little small, they shrunk somewhere during the late 80’s and so did the toppings. But the flavours remain true to this simple Italian fast food and the service is good at this Southgate outlet of Pizza Express PLC. One comment is that this restaurant has a large damaged ceiling section, that makes it look like a building site at the back of the restaurant. Get the builders in and sort it out!
