I’m a Porky’s lover(see review for Chalk Farm) but this branch sucked for me. In particular, it came down to a disagreement over their loyalty scheme. They have these stamp cards — you buy at least £6 worth of food, and you get a stamp, then when you get 9 stamps, you get a free main course. Great for someone like me who goes to Porky’s a lot! However, on our first trip to this one, we showed them our full card at the start, but there was a problem — the staff claimed that to get the free main course, we needed to pay an additional £6 on food as well. We were buying fries for £3 but that left us £3 short — and to be honest, I wasn’t keen to buy something else just for the sake of it, especially as the meals are so filling. If they’re correct, then I think this is a really harsh interpretation, as I’ve bought a main meal and side 9 times at a total price of just over £17 each time — to insist that I spend more money to get the freebie seems very mean, as it’s quite plausible that many like me would primarily be after just one course. However, I also don’t believe they were correct(or at least consistent) as I’ve used this twice before(yes, I go to Porky’s a lot) and it’s been fine. On top of that, I just don’t think there was much engagement from the staff there about it — felt pretty dismissed, and ended up just paying full price for everything. Soured the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend going to a different branch.

I had the pulled pork sandwich(«The Standard») and it was good — good flavor, good coleslaw, nice bun… then add a little bit of their BBQ sauce and you’re set. The chips could be bigger as I’m not a fan of small cut chips. My only issues: 1) little to no smoke flavor — I would have liked to see some bark and«smoke ringed» meat in my sandwich to tell me that it was properly smoked. 2) although it is tasty, the sandwich did a number on my stomach. This normally happens to me with excessively fatty foods which makes me curious about their bbqing/cooking process. Regardless, it was a good, Memphis-style pulled pork sandwich. I will definitely give them another try one day and see if I experience the same issues.

Had the pulled pork steak with chips last night and to be honest, I didn’t expect much from first impression. But as far as burgers go, mine wasn’t half bad. They could do better with the chips, as they were too dry and small cut. Waiting staff were patient and friendly. We were the last to leave and no one tried to get rid of us. Would come back again to try something else on the menu.

Great smoked focused menu. I took some ribs, smoked for 6 hours. Amazing and got off the bone in one second! You’ll find Porky’s Bbq at Boxpark, a very nice infrastructure just a few steps from Shoreditch Hugh Street tube station. Must take a tour if you’re a foodie.

The atmosphere won me over completely! The staff are super friendly! The chef is hot! His food is even hotter! The cocktails were amazing! I mean it doesn’t get any better than this, and if it does, I’m not missing out!!!

We had pulled pork and ribs which were delicious. However, the starters were horrendous — overcooked and not tasty!

Menu for this place looks amazing and I’ve had it on my list of places to go since it first opened in Camden Bf and I decided to go to the one at Boxpark(no burgers but hotdogs — not what we were after anyway!) after some drinks on a weekday. We had walked thought before and thought the atmosphere in Boxpark was great with live music and would be a good place for a drink after Greeted by staff straight away and sat down! Was busy but no queue and staff were very friendly We weren’t actually too hungry and so decided to share a combo type meal which was plenty for two anyway! We chose the combo with beef ribs, tips and pulled pork. I thought all the meat was a little dry buuuuut good flavour. They also had 3 homemade sauces which were very good but runny. We added one — sopmop? — to everything pretty much! Made it real yum! We also got sweet potato fries which were nice and Pitt beans which were good but quite tomatoey. After all the meat and stodge they did taste quite fresh! Quite a good beer choice, I had hiver which I really like. Didn’t look at cocktails selection but think they were priced £7/8 I won’t be running to go back but would go back if in area or if friends wanted to try it :)

I love the whole area of stacked containers which Boxpark actually is and I really loved the extremely tasty pulled pork I had at Porky’s bbq. I did not order the sandwich with pulled pork but the main act pulled pork and this was really a huge amount of meat and I loved it. There are three sauces on the table for you to use with the meat and I enjoyed the chili sauce and the barbecue sauce which were perfect companions with the meat. I tried to compensate for all this meat with a coleslaw side salad which was also very nice. Great place!

ALLTHEMEAT! After an evening trying Langley’s Gin 8 different ways, my stomach was rumbling hard, so some friends and I went on the hunt of food. As we were close to Boxpark, we thought we’d try somewhere we hadn’t been before, and there are a few options there; the most appealing being Porky’s. I ordered juicy pulled pork alongside perfectly cooked meaty ribs. The pulled pork was very nice, but those ribs; meaty and perfectly seasoned, I was such a fan! A belly-full of meat and satisfied tastebuds cost me £14.99, it was superb and I’d definitely go back again!

I’ve got to hand it to them, this tiny joint can do BBQ. Usually I’m used to my barbecue coming from some backwoods shack or place that’s so dark you can barely see the meat in front of you. But this long spot on the top floor of Boxpark is well-lit, friendly with campy posters of Elvis and Johnny Cash and Robert Johnson on the walls. We were sat as soon as we came in, at a tiny table. They’re all tiny though because there just isn’t that much space. It’s a long rectangular restaurant, kitchen on one side, seats on the other. If you want to sit at a bigger table, they have picnic tables outside. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was good. Not the best I’ve had in the city but tasty with TONS of meat, which is always a plus. Bun fell apart a little on me but it was well toasted and a good accompaniment to the meat. However, the ribs. My god, the ribs. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, damn near perfect. Now that was a rib. Not overpriced, friendly staff, a good spot to have a meal with friends.

I give 5 stars for the bbq sauce that is really good, is very hard to get taste. Not too sweet, just right. The ribs were also good and the staff was nice. The portions are big and you can take the rest home.

Great BBQ, cool space, good people. — 5 stars for the pulled pork sandwich — as good as I’ve had in London. Great BBQ sauce, plenty of meat, good bun. — 5 stars for the fries — actual fries, not chips! Nice and crispy, with some dry rub spice or something like it for extra kick. — 5 stars for the slaw — I didn’t eat it, but my wife said it was really good. — 4 stars for the ribs — very tasty, nice bark, good rub, and delicious with the BBQ sauce. My only quibble was that they cooked them hotter than some places, so there was a lot of un-rendered fat. — 5 stars for the service — friendly, helpful, gave us a full carafe of tap water, and everything was prompt. No complaints at all. — 5 stars for the atmosphere — casual but not dumpy, perfect for a quick but tasty lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Oh, and bonus points for having a good beer selection, even if I didn’t have any(yet)! Great addition to Boxpark.
