Les sandwiches sont très corrects mais le service est un peu lent et à 19h il né reste vraiment pas grand chose à se mettre sous la dent !

After growing tired of kebab and traditional British fare I wandered into Pret a Manger not knowing what to expect. It was 3pm, and there was no crowd. I was surprised to find a great selection of sandwiches. After some deliberation I settled on ham and gruyère on a baguette. Despite the fact it was prepacked the mixed greens were not soggy and it didn’t have that refrigerated taste. My total for a sandwich, drink and dessert was £5. The food was comparable to what you would get at Whole Foods, just a lot less pricey.

Yay! I love Pret because of its free wifi(most locations have this) and its relatively reasonably priced food and drink. I hate that eat-in costs a bit more but I guess that makes sense. This particular location has a soft spot in my heart because it was the one my friend and I would frequent most often while we were on holiday in Europe. It was so close to our hostel(near the British Museum) and there was a seat near the refrigerator that had an outlet! So we’d come here in the morning, camp out with our laptops, and type away and eat and type away and drink and type away to our hearts’ content without worrying about losing power. There’s plenty of seating in general and there are some nice, huge, comfy leather couch-type chairs for people who want to lounge and read a book with their coffee. It gets busy here though, since it’s right across from the Kings Cross tube station, so be wary of what time you venture in.

So, I’m still a little iffy on the whole«boxed sandwich» london trend(I tend to like my sandwiches plain). However, I do like that the food is easy to grab on your way to go. This location is right near St. Pancras which makes it a great spot to grab some cheap food for your trip. What I also like about this location, is the ample seating room and the free wireless-so if you need to get some work done its the perfect place to pick up a coffee or tea.

My office just moved to this neighbourhood and we went in to pick up lunch at about 1:00 p.m. today(Friday). We will never be back(well we might, but only in dire food emergencies and only because it is right next door). The flow of traffic in this place is an absolute nightmare. Claustrophobic to say the least. There is a line going nearly out the door(which is to be expected) but you have to cross that line, fight to find a sandwich, and then go back to the end of the line so there is this swirl of people you’re pushing against in every direction. Maybe if you know exactly what you want you can get in and out stress-free. But the four of us walked out all shaking our heads saying«never again!» The sandwich I picked, cheddar and tomato and pickle bloomer, was tasty but not above and beyond so it was definitely not worth the stress. I am already missing my favourite lunch, the tuna melt from EAT with salt and vinegar crisps. At least not having an EAT next door will make me appreciate it that much more!
