I went for an arm wax as I needed one and couldn’t get an appointment at my normal place and although I am fussy with my waxing, I would assume most people don’t want to leave with hair still on them. The therapist didn’t seem to know which direction the hair was growing in and left lots of little patches of hair, meaning when I got home I had to go over them with a wax strip. Also a lot of them seemed to be broken off instead of removed by the root, It’s a shame as I paid £17 and wouldn’t have paid this amount if I want ‘desperate’ and I wouldn’t have minded going there as a one off if she had done a good job. I won’t be returning.

Update: This premises has now become Pure Synergie, but my review below is for the previous occupants, Hebe Hair. I stopped going here recently because I moved away for uni and it was harder to keep coming back to London just to get my hair cut, but before that I had been a customer at Hebe for roughly six years. I regularly saw the head stylist Lorraine(who i’ve been told has now moved back to Ireland permanently). She started off at the Strand branch of the salon and then I followed her over to this branch when she transferred because I valued her expertise. In the last year or so I had been seeing Fiona as her hours were easier to fit in and I believe she is still working there. I’m not sure of what position she’s in, but I know she’s senior. Again I found that she always did what I asked and her bubbly personality makes it impossible to feel uncomfortable. I have now stopped going there completely as I found that after six years in their cluster of regulars I was beginning to find the haircuts a bit bland(even if I did always get priority in the massage chair for my custom!). This is no reflection on the stylists, I just think that after having seen me since I was a teenager it’s all become a bit too comfortable and predictable. I’d definitely recommended this place. The staff are lovely and know what they’re doing! Worth a visit if you don’t mind high-end prices.

Had a hair cut in December 2009 — not happy. Spent 10 mins cutting and God knows how long faffing about styling it. Result — I was £54 down and looked like Shirley Temple. He did not cut my hair as asked. It’s quite thick and needs thinning or it looks flat from the weight of it. He didn’t thin it. The styling fell out after less than 30 mins of London drizzle. I got home to find that he hadn’t cut it straight and one side was longer than the other. £54 — obscene. I’d at least expect competence. I complained and was offered another haircut, but why should I let their staff near my hair again. No refund offered. Seriously cheesed off as this preceded 3 Christmas events, and seriously out of pocket

Having«difficult curly hair» that needs highlighting when you’ve just moved to a new city can spell anxiety. Well, it did for me. I was tired of certain hairdressers who are shocked by my curls and want to straighten my hair. Anyway, I booked myself into this place and it gets my thumbs up! Hebe can handle curls! The lady who did my hair, Tiziana, was pleasant and sweet and did a terrific job with my hair!
