… And we’re back… again. Can’t really fault this place, food’s great, service is great. This time we had the pork belly — banging! Moules as a main and apple and berry crumble with custard for dessert. Yum! Happy diners

We just wandered in here and were pleasantly rewarded by really good pub food. The staff was very friendly. Our waitress was attentive and sweet. Most of us had fish and chips, which were consumed by all in record time. I was reluctantly offered a crust of fish(by my husband) and it was delicious. The mushy peas were unreal-who knew that mushy peas were even edible. They were green and tasty. The Tatar sauce worked. My sister had lamb koftas, which were good,(but nothing like Naama’s down the street). I had the corn fed chicken with chimichurri and empanadas. It was really good. The sweet potato in the empanada was a surprise. The chimichurri didn’t seem as bright as it could have been, but it was tasty. Supposedly, it came with cucumbers, but they were late to dinner. The Queen Adelaide is quite loud, but that can be overcome by the quality of the food, the staff, and by yelling.

A pub right around the corner from me and thank god for that! The Queen Adelaide is a the best, cozy pub with nice wooden tables, separate dining room and outside tables. I have been for both drinks, dinner and brunch and have never left disappointed. There is a full bar with beers, ciders and liquor options and a fantastic bloody mary for around £5. Most recently I had the burger and it was AWESOME. It was perfectly done, with bacon and delicious chips. I am a massive burger fan and this did not disappoint. My friend had the nut roast and as someone who is not a veggie it was also very good. The roast came with the biggest yorkshire pudding i have ever seen, and will be getting some variety of roast next time just because it was so nice. Think I may drop by this week for the pub quiz!

Went on BYO Wednesday, so saved on drinks. Had an amazing burger, atmosphere was good and waiters were friendly: despite being rushed off their feet. Definitely recommend.

YUM! Just yum. We’ve eaten here quite a few times and it never disappoints. The food is fresh and the servings are a good size. Last night we had bread and oil to start with, I had cajun chicken(who know a humble piece of chicken could taste so delicious!) and OH tried onglet steak for the first time… he wasn’t sure what it was but asked our server(who I think is also the manageress) and she explained about the cut of meat and how they cook it etc and he was sold on the idea. I think we literally inhaled our food! Both were served with a bowls of hot crispy fries and coleslaw. Add in a bottle of very good red wine and a bill of just £55 suffice to say we were still happy as ever with this place. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. We walk past another gastro pub to get to this one as it’s less pretentious and pricey, it’s well worth it.

Has a great atmosphere that defines the classic London pub, but also fantastic food that puts this place securely in the gastro pub category. I had the salad to start, which was crispy fresh, well dressed & beautifully presented. Then the lamb in filo pastry with risi e bisi. I was a little unsure about the pairing but it really worked, the risi e bisi complemented the delicious lamb perfectly. That was followed by a sublime bannoffee pie to finish. If the pub was a little quieter I would have licked the plate clean. Every plate was a modern presentation, clean & tasty — I’d be more than happy to order any of the courses again. In fact, the food is of the quality where each mouthful should be cherished & eaten slowly. With that said, we were in a rush to get to a gig & the whole team went out of their way to accommodate us. A shame as we both wanted to stay on but time didn’t allow. The service was friendly & warm without ever being over-bearing. The menu is changed often & the food is always cooked fresh & well in the open kitchen that takes up one corner of the pub. The price is more than reasonable for this standard of food. Three courses, drinks & tip for less than £65 in London can’t be a bad thing.

Not a bad pub at all the food is good, it’s an impressive space, they have lots of comfy seating, nice décor, and a reasonable selection of drinks. You can also make Sock Monkey’s on Sunday’s here. However for some reason I really can’t get enthusiastic about this place. As it’s very open with high ceilings, when it’s busy it can get a little noisy, and I feel uncomfortable as the window’s are so big without any curtains or drapes, so it’s hard to feel homely. I just keep getting the feeling(not dissimilar to when you’ve just have moved to a new house and you haven’t unpacked yet), that people outside can stare in at me and I’m not settled, and with this feeling I just can’t relax here. Although this pub is closer to where we live, and although I have to get a bus to get there, we tend to go that extra distance and go to the Duchess of Cambridge, which has a much more laid back feel. Not a bad place, people are friendly, It’s just not my cup of tea.

A great local pub, good crowd, friendly staff. I’ve had brunch, lunch and dinner here and would recommend it. Have weekly quiz night, book club and byo wine nights.

I think this place is great! A kid friendly pub full of board games, and good food, with great ambiance. A nice selection of wines, for us non-beer lovers(I know, I know, what kind of pub-goer am I?) is another asset. Plus, it’s less than a block from my sister’s house, so proximity counts, too :-) In terms of food, they have fantastic french fries, and the chicken and leek pot pie is super-delicious, although I swear they must use at least a stick of butter. They have some specials on various nights of the week(I think you can bring your own wine without corkage on Wednesdays, if you eat dinner there) that you might want to check out. If you find yourself in Shepherd’s Bush, this is a great pub to visit!

Recently refurbed, and so a number of reviews below don’t entirely do it justice. No more is it TexMex Burgers and terrifying QPR fans: it’s been sympathetically done-up to expose the wood flooring, add some artistically frayed leather sofas, lovely lighting, and an outside smoking area fenced off from the Uxbridge Road madness by some nicely maintained hedging. The food when we visited was great, if pricey. I ate a roasted squash stuffed with other roast winter veg — my partner’s sunday roast chicken was colossal. Really chilled out bar staff and a nice vibe — it could have been a pretentious disaster but it’s actually a really pleasant place to hang out.

This is the latest of a few gastro-furbs in the area, and one that has definitely worked. The Adelaide has a great interior, that is not so posh as to be ‘hotel bar’ and still has a bit of spit and sawdust. Great fireplace feature, nice ramshackle mix of furnishings and the hallowed dining area which is thankfully quite small and unimposing. The staff are great, really unpretentious bunch, and the bar food is excellent: cheese plates for not-too-stupid money, massive prawns and bread for a fiver and home made scotch eggs. More relaxed option than the Princess Victoria and more chilled than Defectors — look forward to some other nights in here, and more of those lovely prawns. yum.

This is quite a fun place to enjoy a heary meal. Not only is the food good, the atmosphere is really brilliant. You can be entertained with music on weekends or even make your own sweet(or not so sweet) music on a thursday karaōke night! Great place to bring your friends and have a laugh!

Sunday afternoon saw us bravely going in a new direction. We headed west down the Uxbridge Road rather than east, to find a spot of lunch. We hardly went 100 yards before being embroiled with choice. The Adelaide Café looked like a promising classic greasy spoon but we walked in and were told it was closed. So much for their ‘all day’ breakfast. Opposite stood proudly the Queen Adelaide. A bit of googling has informed me that ‘Queen’ Adelaide was William IV’s Queen Consort. So she was an early 19th Century Camilla. Of sorts. I can’t ever imagine either ladies frequenting the Queen Adelaide. It is a bit of a classic London boozer, with the locals drinking from a fairly early time and looking miserable through much of the day while staring bitterly into their pint. It might be a bit more lively in the evenings — the notice board above the bar proclaims weekly delights like karaōke, a quiz, darts competitions and the like. We went for lunch. One round of two beers was over a fiver, so it’s not cheap. The menu is Wetherspoonsy — burgers and pasta for around a fiver a dish. We both had the Texas BBQ steak burger. Mine was a huge disappointment. I don’t expect alot of £5.25 but a shrivelled chunk of fatty sinew is never what I would describe as «steak». Additionally it took over 30 minutes and nobody else was eating so the kitchen couldn’t have been busy. Might be worth another look at a different time and without food as it’s quite a nice building with large windows, fireplaces and that sort of stuff.
