Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!

If you want your kids to have a day of fun, including a wow factor, this is definitely the place to go. The place has something for everyone. You can say a hi to the guy who started it all, there is a projected image of him on the place! It is so cool.
Must say my son who is 4-​year-​old was terrified at the black hole area. You quite feel dizzy there. Otherwise, it was all good. It is open till late night and very close to the tube, so a good bet to get outta home on a cold and chilly day!

Me and my friend got a deal on Groupon for this. We went one evening after work. First of all we had a few drinks. It was great fun walking around and seeing all the strange things. The mummy hands and shrunken head were grim but fascinating. And the mirror maze is worth a laugh. However there was one part that appealed us and nearly made us cry (however this may have been caused by the drink or than anyyhing) you can press a button and electrocute and fake man. We bother agreed it was disgusting and why would you ever want to do that… But over all this was enjoyable.

My boys and I had a great time. Interactive as well as informative! Staff was helpful and friendly. Might be a little pricey, but most stuff in London is :)

The place is really amazing you can use the online evening saver option to spend less when you buy you tickets.

not worth the money you pay for. especially when you can go into some of the best museums in the world for free walking distance from this place… it’s one of those places that if you have cash to burn then go for it… but if your budget conscious then you will probably be very disappointed for what you get for your cash. but i did still enjoy myself that’s probably because my mate paid for it… :) the best part was being in the maze… it’s definitely something that kids would enjoy a lot more than adults but again not worth 5 hours of minimum wage…

This is my first Ripleys I have been in and it was interesting, but not 29pounds worth type of interesting. It is pretty big and give yourself a few hours here. Each floor has different interesting facts and fun things to explore. My favorite thing was the mirror maze. i really thought I was not going to get out of there but you do eventually!

On a rainy Sunday i couldn’t think of anywhere else to take my parents who were visiting from Australia. So this seemed like the perfect place to shelter us from the rain and keep us occupied and entertained for a few hours.
I’ve been to one of these in Australia, but it was nothing like this one. 5 floors of amazing artifacts and stories. Some of the things in here seem too far fetched to be true. But it definitely keeps you entertained.
My favourite part was the mirror maze. I didn’t think this would be as fun as it was, and my parents were having a blast. Who would have thought a few mirrors could cause so much lack of direction.
Definitely a fun day out for people of all ages!

Had an awesome time here! Spend almost three hours in here! Loved the laser game too! Glad we got pre-​sale tickets very cheap otherwise it seems a bit expensive.

This has become a yearly tradition for my Fiancé and I, as it’s where we went on our first ‘official’ date.
I was happy with the customer services within 24 hours response when we queried whether it was open on the Jubilee. We were given full information.
While I feel I generally enjoy the place, I’ve found more pedantic negatives than positives. Firstly, the location is convenient, slap bang in the centre of Piccadilly. I’m a fan of Karl Pilkington, so the freaks element amuses me anyway. I miss the crystal Mini Cooper, which has been replaced by a knitted Ferrari.
We bought a full ticket, but we decided to give the mirror maze and laser race a miss as we had headache from the noise. The woman at the entrance said there was a very long queue for the laser race anyway.
One of the biggest downsides for us was the lack of restaurant. While there are many places to eat in Central London, If you’re really interested in the exhibits it takes a good while to walk around, and there is only a snack stop half way that sells overpriced confectionery and drinks.
From what we can remember, there is only a toilet on one floor, so you have to go while you can. The general admission for the place is quite a lot, considering you can simply view the exhibits online, but I guess you can get away with it in C. London.
I didn’t like how the dungeon was compulsory, there’s a room with a dummy man in a chair being electrocuted, and when someone pulls the switch he convulses in the chair screaming while smoke drifts from him. I didn’t want to experience it, but someone found it amusing to switch it repeatedly. While it’s interesting, It scared a 20 year old, so It’d scare a child (I wouldn’t want to explain the purpose of chastity belts to a 4 year old). Plus the hissing of the pipes as you get to Vlad the Impaler’s display made me jump, I was interested but moved on quicker as it was irritating.
Towards the end of the exhibits there is a rolling tunnel that takes your pictures. We take a picture each year of Andrew picking me up in a honeymoon pose. We waited our turn as a group of 8 – 12 years or so old kids were going through. However the mother was nowhere to be seen, and the children kept coming back through the tunnel again about 20 times! This REALLY annoyed me, as by that age I had manners, AND they could see us waiting to take our picture. Furthermore you have to go through the tunnel to exit. Little tip If someone is going through the tunnel before you don’t stand directly behind at the end of the corridor, as your face will be in their photo!
After that is the photo booth where you can view and buy the image from the rolling tunnel. And because the children before us had gone through repeatedly, the images on screen didn’t show ours for about 10 minutes! We actually sat and waited while who must have been the mother to the 4 children nattering away with her kids to the gent behind the desk. She didn’t end up buying anything! Steer clear of viewing your images as you may be tempted to spend your months wages on a photo.
The overall experience, however IS worth it. We will continue to have our yearly visits as we also have our memories.

Both me and my teenage sons enjoyed our visit although it was still very expensive with our discount vouchers.

An interesting museum. It is full of strange and interesting objects. Children find it entertaining especially the tv room with recordings of weird and wonderful skills of people from around the world.

It just didn’t work for me. Especially at those prices. Kids enjoyed it though.
My only thrill was near the end with the mirror maze and hallucination bridge (which was extra on the standard ticket price)
My conclusion: Not memorable enough to justify the cost.

The 8 year old kid inside me has been pleading to see this attraction since it opened. Finally I got my chance, and am glad to say my inner 8 year old was suitably impressed with the Odditorium.
I far preferred this to any of the other infamous «London Tourist Traps» that skilfully extort money from you from the moment you walk in the door. I was inundated with fun facts and crazy stories. Did you know only humans, pigs and hammerhead sharks can catch a tan? Incontrovertible evidence that the hammerhead is really the coolest shark on the block.
Oh, and don’t forget, when you get to the tongue mirror, you must really try your hardest to make the shapes they ask you to. There may be a pleasant surprise for you later on if you master the technique of contorting your tongue into various shapes. You’ll thank me later…

An interesting and absorbing couple of hours entertainment (not 4 hours as certain guides suggest), especially if you have a gore-​obsessed child with you!
Some things to note:
— It is only 3 floors (not 5)
— It is VERY pricey unless you use a 2 for 1 offer
— Some of the exhibits will make stomachs turn
Personally, I enjoyed the visit, but having noted other reviewers comments, I can see why you might not.

£40 for two adult tickets — this is an absolute rip off
Many of the exhibits are duplicated at other Ripleys locations the videos are taken from the TV shows presented by Dean Cain and appear not only outdated but in some cases factually incorrect. Exhibits are displayed confusingly with one label for an entire case but no way to identify items beyond this.
Over three floors it felt like the ‘good’ parts would be just around the corner, a corner which never arrived — unless you count the exit.

Ok so it is not the natural history museum nor is it disney world but this is a good bit of fun for those intrigued in the wierd and wonderful.
AS soon as you walk out you are greeted with exhibits such as Hailie Selasies throne, a Giant shark jaw and the largest ever made rocking chair !
This is a fun museum and although yes some things are wax replicas it is still very interesting and yes! heaven forbid you may have to read something to appreciate the story behind each artifact.
From portraits made from pennies and stamps. to genuine Vampire killing kits made it the 1800’s and even geuine shrunken heads (they have videos explaining how and why they did this) this really is a fun day out.
I had a free pass so I do not know how much they charge you but I would say if you are looking for an interesting bit of fun Ripley’s is it!

I was expecting a bit more from the exhibits at the Ripley’s museum but the entry price of £20 very expensive for a 20 – 30 min tour of not much to see! few shrunken heads, models of weired face’s and a lot of walled info of record breaking weiredness. but it has only just opened and i expect they will add more as time goes on but £20 tut, tut.

This kind of museum is right up my street, I was always the goofy kid who had a fascination with peculiar facts and trivia, and that hasn’t changed much over the years.
They actually have a Ripleys in Orlando which I’ve been to, a building which looks half-​sunken into the ground and full of oddities, so I was expecting good things from this new London branch, and I wasn’t disappointed. The price is a bit steep at £19.95 but look out for 2 for 1 offers at tube and train stations — I’m not sure I would have paid full price.
If you’re the kind of person who loves reading about two-​headed beasts, marvelling at chewing gum sculptures, dinosaur eggs and mini coopers covered in crystals, this museum is for you. We were kept entertained for well over two very funny hours.

I really enjoyed visiting this attraction at the weekend it was very informative and the exhibits were in some cases amazing and in others very funny.
It is pricey at £17.95 for an adult ticket, one tip is that there are often people handing out leaflets near by offering £2 off per adult or on the back of your ticket there is an offer for £4 off your next visit so it may be helpful if you can catch someone coming out that is willing to give you there ticket.
Having said that for a central London attraction I think this is value for money, it took us 2 hours to walk round and we could have taken longer had we watched the dvds that were showing aswell and read every sign.
I probably wouldn’t return for a few years as once you’ve seen the attractions there is no need to but I would recommend this to anyone that hasn’t been.

This was a very fun attraction to visit. Some of the exhibits are incredible, and it has been laid out very nicely. I thought it was going to be more interactive than it was, as it is more of a museum. The entrance price is quite expensive. I would say it took about an hour and a half to visit. The gift shop is brilliant. It is located in the Trocadero in Piccadilly Circus.
