This store has a spider finger puppet. I put his little spidery body on my finger and waved his little spidery body around with his spidery feet. I had no change so I didn’t get him. He was 2.75 at Rodwins. I needed him but I’ll have to come back. They also had a humming bird in purple and a swan. The prices varied from 2.50 to about 7.00. There was also a good selection starting at .35 of plastic friends like siamese cat with pointy ears. I realise my view of this shop may be slightly myopic but I will take spidy home tomorrow and hold the 1920’s cig lighter in one hand and type with spidy on my opposing thumb.

Eccentric little shop behind Southgate tube, selling an odd mix of arts and crafts supplies, dance shoes(for adults and kids), and fancy-dress accessories such as wigs, pirate patches and a range of moustaches including my personal favourite, the«Brigadier». They specialise in knitting and needlework supplies. Around five people seem to be employed at any one time to sit around and knit, so there’s always someone on hand to advise you if you’re a novice. Great fun for browsing and full of things you didn’t know you needed. Don’t take kids and expect to leave empty handed.
