Only popped in to get some pastries but always pass and finally ventures in. Nice cosy setting. Nice location on Broadway. Very local clientele which of course is the area of Crouch End. Lovely fresh tarts!

I wanted to be able to write about the quality of the food and coffee but unfortunately I was so put off by the standard of the service that, for the first time in my life, I walked out without even giving the place a shot.
Instead I have titled my review ‘HOW TO ALIENATE A CUSTOMER IN 30 SECONDS’
i) Offer to show him to a seat, and then leave him standing like a lemon while you talk to your colleague on the way
ii) Continue to leave him standing while you wander off and talk to another customer who is fortunate enough to be seated
iii) Ignore him altogether, leaving another waiter to ask what’s wrong
iv) Brush past and knock him on the shoulder while you return to the front of the café, without acknowledging any mistakes or offering any explanation.

I love this place! Every time I’m in London I make sure I stop in here. The food is delicious and the owner puts so much craft and care into each and every aspect of the menu.

I met a friend for tea and sandwiches here yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. I made the mistake from ordering my food at the front counter, when I should have taken a seat and spent time browsing the menu which had a lot more items on it! Oh well. I chose the Mediterranean sandwich with fresh mozzarella and it was rather tasty. All sandwiches are served with a complimentary salad with house dressing which is the perfect accompaniment. The staff was very kind and friendly. I will return soon!

I’ve been an ardent supporter of the muswell hill branch, and have had my loyalties greatly tested by the opening of the crouch end Sable d’or — right on our doorstep. Turns out loyalty does often give way to convenience and dispite the smaller space, the café retains the homely feel and character of the N10 version; partly due to the care afforded by a conscientious owner who can often be seen chatting with the regulars. good local javva spot.
