Yes, I like Sainsbury’s. Although I find this particular branch very crowded just like the high street it serves. I love the Sainsbury’s Basics range which I virtually live off if I’m not entertaining guests. One can take quite a basketful to the checkout and it only seems to total a few pounds. I won 4 tickets to a top West End theatre show Treasure Island worth about £180 from their magazine although unlike Morrisons and Tesco this magazine is not free. I was also selected to take part in a customer listening exercise for Sainsbury’s which lasted about an hour and took place at The Marriott Hotel in Maida Vale for which we got a £30 voucher each for an hour of our time. I find most of their staff helpful and their checkouts seem to be spitting out lots of 100 Bonus Nectar Points coupons for me which is handy as I spend 500 points on £2.50 off my shopping. As Big Business I find Sainsbury’s less insidious than Tesco but Tesco are more generous I find with their reduced counter. The Basics range is great but milk, cigarette papers, lighters and cigarette filters are cheaper in Poundland and I never buy tobacco from the supermarket any more. Newsagents often sell it cheaper with special pre-printed prices from the manufacturers.
