Santorini Taverna

This was a fabulous dining experience! We visited about 2 weeks ago and frankly, it was possibly the best Greek food we have ever eaten (which we eat regularly). Everything we ordered was delicious and elegant. We started with spanakopita and hummus, and chose lamb and pork souvlakis, mousaka and salmon as our entrees. All great! Nice wine list, attentive service and very reasonable prices. Excellent restaurant.

Had a wonderful meal at Santorini. Ordered the Kleftiko (brazed lamb shoulder) and it was amazing (along with everything else we ordered) The service was good and the waiters were very friendly and personable. Has a nice ambiance in the place. Food was priced very well. Would highly recommend.

My friend and I caught some sort of food poisoning from the chicken. That says enough. There are definitely some hygienic problems. Both of us had diarrhea for days.
We came here because it was the only restaurant open at the time of night, but obviously it was a trap! Had salmon as well which was alright. The food is nothing like the reviews. If you’re looking for a good meal, you need to go somewhere else.
Service wasn’t bad though.

We arrived late with four kids in tow. The owner seated us quickly and wowed us with the best smörgåsbord of Grecian delights I have ever tasted. Price was reasonable for London standards and I would be a regular for sure if I lived here. It was our top meal in London!

What a great experience. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. The ambiance was delightful. We met the owner, his wife and daughter. A wonderful family with a great restaurant. We would return in a heartbeat. As we ate, a series of regulars arrived who were all greeted as family. Very impressive.

Probably the best meal I’ve had in London so far. We started with the (lightly) fried cheese with honey and sesame – need I even say more? Amazing. Everything off the grill – we had the grilled vegetables, lamb skewer, and grill octopus – was perfectly charred and delicious. I also got the zucchini rissoles which were great, although the fried patties were less zucchini and more cheese than I had expected.
I will definitely be returning!

Wow! My first 5-​star review in a long time. Santorini Taverna was soooo tasty it warrants a 5-​star review. So here’s how it went down.
My wife, 16-​yr old daughter, 6-​yr old son and I found this Greek restaurant in our neighborhood and made a reservation. We’re visiting from San Francisco and were looking for something tasty but healthy too. And Santorini hit the mark.
We started with a lightly fried cheese dish drizzled with honey and sesame seeds. Super decadent. Three nice pieces came so it was actually too much for the four of us. And very lightly breaded — not like TGI Fridays in the US. Refined properly describes it.
Then my wife and daughter decided to order two starters for their meals. Each got the grilled vegetables which included peppers, mushrooms and eggplant in a very little bit of olive oil with a nice char from the grill. My wife also got a grilled octopus and my daughter got zucchini cakes with a bit of cheese in them. I got lamb souvlaki which was grilled perfectly — a great char around the edges and seasoned nicely. Also came with grilled green peppers, onions and tomatoes with the same char. And no oily residue on the plate. My little guy had beef and lamb meatballs plus he grazed extensively off everyone else’s plate.
The value was solid — 59£ for the four of us including one alcoholic drink and we took a bunch of food home. The ambiance was nice — not too stuffy to have kids (there were a few) but very nice for couple as well. Nice wooden tables and linen napkins in a very nice neighborhood. The staff was pleasant, not rushed, just easy.
I really can’t think of anything I would change as we’re already planning to go back before we leave the UK in a few weeks. Highly recommended!
