*cries* I really fancied some pad thai for lunch… so decided to go for a wander around Holborn to find some. This place looked really busy, so I asked if they did take-away, and then ordered their set lunch with pad thai and a couple of sticks of satay chicken. Unfortunately, although this was much more expensive than most of my go-to lunch places(I paid £11 for take-out), it just didn’t taste that good. It didn’t taste of anything really! It was just a bland, slightly lemon-y smoodge of noodles. It did have a good number of king prawns — but even king prawns can’t save a dish that has no flavour. This was not«fine» thai food… but I’ll be fine if I don’t bother to come back. **I really hate to be harsh to an independent restaurant, but this place looks busy, so they’ll cope with another bad review. There must be some diners near Holborn that like bland noodles.**

We arrived 40 minutes before closing time and they were nice enough to let us in. We were served really quick, too. I got the Mussaman curry, one of the safe and non spicy options in Thai restaurants. The lamb was very soft and well cooked. The sticky rice unfortunately wasn’t that great, a bit soggy and soft. It wasn’t amazing, but not bad either. I guess it needs another visit for a more specific veredict…

I’m in London this week visiting my partner who lives there. After the gym, this was one of the few restaurants open at 10:30 p.m. When we entered, we were asked to order quickly because they were scheduled to close in a half hour. We did order quickly. To be fair, I ordered off the menu and asked for noodles, chicken, and vegetables in chicken broth. I got noodles, chicken, and very few vegetables in a brown sauce. It wasn’t what I ordered but was decent. The biggest problem was that the appetizer came with a long black hair. The staff quickly whisked it away when this was brought to their attention and offered another, without the hair. At that point, we were not interested. When the bill came, it listed us as having received a «free starter,» meaning a free appetizer. I don’t consider an appetizer with a hair, that we did not eat, to be free. Typically, free means that you were given something of value without charge. Not so here. Finally, the meal was rather expensive and we were charged $ 4.50 for the rice that came with the meal. I would not return.

We arrived here on a Thursday night with a group of 10 of us having been turned away from the Korean place on the corner nearby. There were only a few tables taken and they quickly made us a large table at the back big enough for 10. Its a nicely decorated place, not tacky and fairly classy. The menu is fairly standard Thai, with a lot of the usual dishes. I opted for Pandan Chicken to start and Chicken with garlic and black pepper as a main. The food did take a while to arrive and mine was not the hottest I’ve had. Of the 10 they made a mistake with one of our orders thinking my friend had said she didnt want the main course she’d enquired about. To their credit they did manage to get her dish out before most of us had finished ours. All in all, fairly average, nothing major to set it apart from any other Thai restaurant. If I was in the area again I suppose I would consider going again — if there was nothing else I wanted to try nearby.
