Only recently moved to the area and I’ve become a regular already. GREAT shop. While it doesn’t offer everything K-Mart down the road does, it has a wonderful selection and definitely has more snack options. My favourite part of the shop is the fridge section near the checkout, where they sell prepackaged meals. Definitely give the pack of 4 steamed buns a go, the shrimp&tofu in particular. They also sell warm individual buns for far cheaper than at K-Mart(where they don’t offer shrimp&tofu or the cheaper packs of four.) Great shop, most of the staff are very friendly(none are unfriendly, some just quiet.) Definitely worth a visit :)

Seoul Plaza is where you can find most of the ingredients you need for when you’re about to embark on a Chinese/Japanese/Korean cooking adventure. This place is likely to have what you need and for me — being a Norf Londoner — I enjoy coming here much more than going to any of the overcrowded stores in Chinatown. Having said that, their fresh produce selection isn’t that great, but then you just go to any of the green grocers nearby and they’re likely to have it. They have a large selection on Asian snacks as well as instant noodles of any kind!

Asian food store. not japanese, not chinese, not korean, not thai… Asian. They had an entire isle dedicated to the various types of instant egg noodles soups. Soooo many. I love walking through these kinds of stores. There are so many strange things or things that make me want someone to teach me «asian» cooking. I see a package of various types of dried fungi and herbs and veg and think what in the hell would you make that into? They have a frozen section with various things but I mostly noticed the frozen sushi bits n bobs. Like sliced octopus, shrimp and tobiko. Can you freeze tobiko and still have it taste good? I don’t think that’s right. Lots of variety, fairly priced. Someone come into the store and translate for me. I mean really tell me what some of these strange things are used in what dishes and stuff. Would love to be in the know.
