Their chicken wings are as good as the ones at KFC. Arguably better. The drinks are very reasonably priced and they are very good to their customers. They have 2TV screens for sports. One runs on a slight time delay so if you miss a goal or try, you can turn around and look at the other screen to see it. The staff are the friendliest bar staff I have ever come across. It’s just a shame they are in danger of losing their licence because neighbours complain about the noise, so if you do visit this pub, please be quiet as you leave. I don’t want it to close!

The Sir Alexander Fleming is a decent pub situated a short walk from Paddington or Edgware Road. The staff are very friendly, and the pub has a family vibe — we visited on a Thursday evening and the crowd was a mixture of young families, blokes out to watch the football, young professionals and older men with their bulldogs! Not worth a special trip but it’s a nice place to have a drink if you’re in town.

Nice friendly pub, with reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and provide good service. Reasonably priced food(example fish and chips £7.50, pub around the corner charge around £14)

One might dismiss this as just another pub in Paddington, it looks just like one of the others, but being slightly away from the station, it’s good for a quiet drink with one(or many) of your friends. They have plenty on tap and a good range of bottle beers and ciders(just tried a passion fruit Rekorderlig, very tasty! The staff are really accommodating, we normally arrive after 10pm on a Wednesday after sports and they’re quick with service. I think our group has been coming here for a couple of months now and we always have a good time.

One of the pitfalls regarding restaurants and pubs around Paddington Station is that they are often filled with tourists and travelers and thus they feel like an airport waiting area. Once you get a few blocks away, however, there are some nice spots where most customers are regulars. Such is the case with«The Flem,» named after the Doctor who invented penicillin while working in the nearby hospital. It is said that the bacteria that led to his discovery were acquired from a local pub. At the very least, it’s a good medecine to have in certain parts of town(if you know what I mean, nudge nudge). 80 years later, this pub has been modernized with TVs, music and cranking central heat. It’s a nice, mid-sized open room with both tables and couches. They have a food menu, but I didn’t see anyone eating… just enjoying beer or wine. It’s worth stopping by if in the nabe and you want to wet your whistle or — in the case of Alexander Flemming — meet a fungi.

Your typical local pub with local crowd for a slice of real London life. TVs are on and a bit loud. Beers are classic, nothing out of the ordinary. It’s a good place for an after work beer in an area without too much good choice.

I found this pub on one of my many visits to London, it is just of the main road in Paddington opposite St Mary’s Hospital. And away from the main tourist pubs in the area so you are not fighting to get a drink. A little disappointed on the selection of beers available with only one bitter available and this being cask ale but a fair selection of larger’s, Ciders, wine and spirits are available, The pub is spacious and has a friendly atmosphere, it has two TV’s showing Sky Sport which is not turned up too high that you are fighting to talk as you do in many pubs that have this facility available. Food is available up to about 6pm with traditional plough mans and other quick meals. It has a small seating area at the front of the pub which is situated on a non busy road. I would recommend this place to any one visiting this location and wanting a quiet drink in London.
