My wife suggested this place and I’ll admit that I was skeptical at first because the lack of curb appeal and could be better soundtrack. However the food was actually really good and we’ve been back 4 times in two weeks. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the bolognese sauce was fantastic. Give it a shot, you’ll be glad you did.

This Italian place is simply remarkable! When we worked in the entire restaurant was buzzing with a very exciting atmosphere. We indulged in two wonderful appetizers: bruschetta and a scallops. The scalloped were seasoned very well. But I describe them to my friend as «small but mighty» because the portions left something to be desired. I have spaghetti and garlic bread as the main course which was delicious. The sever then recommended a vanilla passion fruit moose which was to die for. The service was great. Our server was Falipo I highly recommend him. Definitely try this place!

Actually, really good. I was visiting London for the first time and we had just arrived at the hotel after a 10hr flight and were tired. So it was to our delight we found an italian restaurant pretty close by. Sopranos is only about a 7 minute walk from our hotel and I got to say it was incredible. The food was great, clearly freshly made and not too expensive. The waitress was really nice and polite, the service was great regardless of time. I had the pizza, and OHMYGOD was that the best pizza I have ever had. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone who is local or even visiting. I will definitely go back before I leave!

We stopped by for dinner because this joint was close to the hotel & it was getting late so we were unsure how limited our dining options were being that it was our 1st night in the city. The place looked decent enough, the menu had a few interesting items that I wouldn’t mind eating & the wine list had decent prices. I ordered the scallops as appetizer & the Linguine pollo and pesto as the main dish. The scallops was a bit salty but it was delicious. The linguine wasn’t bad at all. My companion thought the food was okay. She said it was slightly better than the stuff you would get at the Olive Garden. Sigh…

The very best food I have every had and we travel the world. Great staff. The pizza was wonderful and the lasagna is out of this world.

A nice little venue to pop into for drinks but it does get busy after 11.30, probably because it is free to get into! We did experience some live music to start but apparently the pianist had to be rushed to hospital(dubious) which is why we had to wait a while until a replacement could be found before we had live music again. The setup was pretty simple with just a pianist and an singer. The singer was fine but nothing to write home about but he was in tune a played songs one could sing along to so that was a plus. Drinks were on the average price side for 11.30 plus at night but they did serve food late which was great! We arrived after 10,30 and got a pizza! It got extremely busy by the time we left at 1.30 but was quite a fun night! Xyz

This place was simply awful. Typical English-style Italian food. I had the Lasagne. It was overly salted, had almost no flavor. Tasted like a meat and cheese pie, using pasta instead of pastry crust. Started with their fried fig, blue cheese, rocket and walnut salad. It had no dressing, only a little drizzle of balsamic vinegar. I really regretted picking this place to eat. I did so because of the decent reviews here on Unilocal. They were not deserved. Best I can think is that the people who rated it well just aren’t used to decent Italian food. Never again. Yuck!

Very, very average Italian. I think I just had the pizza, and it was alright. Luckily I was here with group of people and was laughing more than eating. The bar is right behind most of the tables, and the waiters and waitresses just hang out there. It’s a bit unnerving. And, as with most British places the door kept on opening, and blowing cold, frigid air on the women sitting opposite me at the table. One of them had to even switch seats with one of the guys because it got too unbearable. Kensington High Street has so many better places.

We were looking for a place in the area for a quick drink, heard some good things about the place so decided to stop by. Great ambiance, really liked the interior décor and the live music. The place started out pretty empty early for a Friday evening but seemed to pick up at around 9. Its worth checking to see who is playing, there is a big difference between the different performers. Food and service were good

This place is just lovely! One of the first places I’ve been to in London that I thought the food was great. The mozzarella bread was fantastic; The bread was just the right amount crispy and when I bit into it, tasted it just came out of the oven. The cheese was heavenly, for 3 pounds, and 4 pieces, mmm! My margarita pizza that was stone baked? at 7.80 pounds was 12″ and… so fresh. I thought I was in Italy and I’ve never even been to Italy before! I’m hoping Italy is as fantastic as this, or maybe even better! There were 6 slices of pizza, and I’m sure one would be enough for you to have a takeaway after. My cappuccino I ordered was… probably one of the best ones I’ve had. It was in a huge cup and only 2.90 pounds. It looked great! Tasted great of course. Service was so different than any other restaurant I’ve been to, I thought I was back in America! SUCHGOODSERVICE, always checking up on us! Of kourse at the end, our server went on break, and this lady server was kinda«ehh» she messed up on calculation because my friend had told her what she ordered, and was just like«charge what I ordered to my card.» She charged my friends card less than the amount she ordered, so that threw us off because it took quite a while to figure out that the server didn’t charge the right amount. Besides that, I think this place is great, music is nice, the table setting, the ambiance. all lovely. I will return again! :) They will add a service charge btw…

We went here tonight unexpectedly. We were at the other Piano bar in Kensington High Street but it was too busy. I was well impressed with Sopranos. We had a snack of pizza for him and ceasure salad for me in the restaurant which was nice but a little pricey. Then we went downstairs and the piano was playing with one great singer and another not so great that we thought it was Karaōke but it worked somehow. Expensive cocktails and cheap wine downstairs. Its a bit grungy but a good atmosphere and a good night out.

I have been to Soprano’s twice, once in August 09 and once in September 09 — both on Saturday nights. The first time was for a friend’s going away party. Soprano’s was one of his favorite places in London and said he went there about 2x/month. We arrived around 10pm and the place was surprisingly quiet. There was an open table that our large group was able to sit around which is rare since the place is pretty small. My initial impression was that this would be a great«date place». The guy on piano was playing a lot of slow, easy-listening music(as opposed to more rowdy billy joel type sing-a-longs). Around 11/11:30 the place started to get packed. Suddenly everyone was shouting the words along and people were standing on chairs and cushions dancing. There was a wide range of people there and it was a great time. Difficult to get to the bar after awhile and the room becomes extremely hot. The second time I went to Soprano’s it was supposedly the«better band». It was equally as fun, crowded and hot but I actually liked the other guy on piano a bit better. Definitely recommended as its something different and fun to do in London on the weekends!

If you’re beyond clubbing, can’t face gigs anymore but are still up for a hip-swaying singalong once in a while, then Sopranos is a revelation. It comprises a ground floor restaurant and a basement bar and restaurant, where the piano action happens. I went with a friend and made the mistake of having dinner right by the piano. Both it and the singer playing it, were miked up. This is quite unecessary as the sound bounces off the long, low-ceilinged walls and makes conversation impossible. unless you are blessed with canine-quality hearing. Still, if you arrive after dinner, and aren’t needing a heart-to-heart, then the place comes into its own. Soon people are draping themselves round the piano and any floorspace is packed with wannabee twenty and thirtysomething crooners. It’s not really jazz although the odd Sinatra song did crop up, but more a random array of tracks from across the ages. By the end of the evening my friend and I were dancing with abandon and singing along to REM and Amy Winehouse at the top of our voices along with about 100 other peoplefantastic fun.

Whether your voice is as high as an alto or as low as a soprano, get ready to siiiinnnnng your heart out at Sopranos! This karaōke style piano bar is split into two levels. Upstairs is an Italian themed restaurant, great for a low-key evening. If you’re in the mood for more excitement, downstairs is the place to be! The venue is small and intimate and most of the action revolves around the piano and the bar. There’s a nice selection of tropical themed drinks and nibbles like fries and nachos available. I came here for a friends birthday and we stayed until Sopranos closed! The night was filled with songs by John Legend, Marron 5, The Fray, etc., great venue for close friends!
