Spaghetti House

A packed out little chain restaurant in Covent Garden. We had a mushroom risotto for starter and for main course mushroom tagliatelle and margarita pizza.
The pasta tasted bland and like a packet meal. The pizza was ok.

A great chain of Italian restaurants, this one is conveniently located near to Leicester Square. This is one of the closest places I’ve got to an Italian restaurant outside of Italy, a lot of the staff that work there appear to be Italian and there is a definite charm. The food is good and the portions are of a good size.
There is plenty of seating in this branch and it expands into a cavernous basement, this can cause slight issues when it comes to service as I found that as we were hidden away it was difficult to attract attention of the staff when necessary.
Best thing about Spaghetti House is that they have a loyalty card; a stamp for every £20 and then £10 off on your 5^th visit and they will give you another stamp still if you spend £20.

Good for solo dining. Personal table, albeit next to the til and near a busy corridor.
The service is ok but nothing to shout about.
The food. Ok but nothing to shout about.
I read the backstory in the menu and I really wanted to love it but. It wasn’t meant to be.
I’d say give it a chance, but I don’t recommend it if you are looking for an above average Italian dining experience.

Rude service. Low quality food. A typical low budget Italian «restaurant»!

Ein echter Italiener. Pasta und Lasagne waren sehr gut — was in London meiner Erfahrung nach nicht selbstverständlich ist.

we ordered dipping bread starter with balsamic & olive oil, this was disappointing as they had break sticks & thin crisp bread which was hard to dip & not that enjoyable, the best part was the slices or normal thick bread.
The mains were spaghetti carbonara & spaghetti puttanesca. They came out really fast even before we had finished our starter which I wasn’t impressed with, the carbonara lacked seasoning & flavour was quite plain & the puttanesca was. Overly salty and not enjoyable at all.
the best part of the meal was the deserts & would eat these again but think twice before ordering a main/​starter

If you are seated at a table with Brenda as your server you might ask to be moved. She’s the rudest server we’ve had in all of Europe. It’s a shame because the food is pretty good. We ordered the carbonara, the tagliatelle with chicken and asparagus and the chicken caesar. All were fresh, hot and delicious.

Quel dommage! Ce plat était tout simplement succulent! Cuisson, assaisonnement, tout était parfait!
La pizza était bonne mais sans être exceptionnelle… J’y retournerais volontiers pour tester d’autres plats de pâtes.

We went here today as soon as it opened at 12:00, we were seated straight away and given the menu as well as the specials for that day. The staff were warm and very helpful, I ordered Spaghetti Polpettine (with meat balls, which were clearly high quality meat as well as hand made and tasted amazing!). My friend ordered Spaghetti Bolognese which had a lovely sauce and was well cooked. The pasta itself was very nice as it wasn’t too thick and stodgy, each sauce was thick and filled with flavour. We ordered the garlic bread (which I honestly advise anyone gets!) which came out very fast and was once again home made.
This is a small family run business which is very friendly and very customer oriented, which hugely works in its favour as it feels like nothing is too large a task for them which is a lovely feeling we would very much recommend this restaurants to anyone in the area.

I’m really quite confused by the good reviews for Spaghetti House, since our visit last month was really quite terrible.
Service — this is the only reason S.H. gets two stars… our waitress was very sweet and apologetic.
Ambiance — nice enough but a bit on the dirty side, especially on the bottom level.
Food — Horrendous.
– Salmon Salad — this was flavorless and dry, the salmon quality was suspect, and the salad contained pumpkin seeds twice, despite my requesting they not be included twice. Our waitress agreed not to charge us for this dish.
– Margarita Pizza — Not sure how S.H. managed to mess this up but my FIL deemed it «hopeless.»
– Pasta with Chicken (not sure of the exact name) — I’ve had better sauce out of a Ragu jar. I wish I was kidding.
– Children’s Pasta — My 9-​year-​old ate this with no complaints, but she loves carbs of all kind. Overcooked or not.
– Order of Bread — This was dry and flavorless. Nobody ate it. (It wasn’t complimentary).
Overall — We will avoid Spaghetti House like the plague. I can make better Italian food and I am a TERRIBLE cook.

we came here because every place we tried was crowded or had some strong smell.
I’m glad we did. We were seated right away and ordered a pizza. Service was fast and efficient. Food was good too.
Priced reasonably well.
Not my first choice but will be glad to come back and try spaghetti instead of pizza =)

Spaghetti house is always a ‘must’ stop during our visits in London. And spaghetti puttanesca is just fantastic meal!

Charming restaurant in a great location. The staff are very professional and attentive. Most importantly the food and wine are great! We’ll be back!

A very acceptable branch of this chain. You know what to expect with Spaghetti House and this is a good example of their reasonably priced and tasty Italian food. Service as you would expect. Not haute cuisine but good no nonsense eating
