Great friendly efficient & good value for money. Anna-Lisa was very sweet and took care to cut my hair in a way that suited me well. Highly recommended

A tiny, no-frills salon on Goodge Street. I came here for a bikini wax — Rosa did a great job. The downstairs waxing rooms are clean and quiet. They use hard wax here which is maintained at 61 C — a tad hot by my standards, but within the normal range for waxing. The waxing was efficient and fast, and not too painful — she went over each patch of skin only once and alternated between high– and low-sensitivity areas. I was(pleasantly) surprised at how much baby powder they use — while it’s annoying when it gets on your dark clothing, it helps prevent rash and that sticky after-wax feeling. Lots of places forego baby powder altogether and just slap some post-wax oil on you. a sure way to feel gross for the rest of the day. They provide some after-wax lotion that you can help yourself to.

Finally, a decent haircut in central London for £10. Close to Euston and UCL, fast service, good atmosphere and friendly staff — and did as good a job as other places in the area charge £15 or £20 for.

Cheap, super-fast and rubbish haircut. I don’t have enough hair to justify much more than this, but I was still a bit shocked that within about 4 minutes of starting-up the clippers, the barber was asking me if I was happy with the final look. Is he the Usain Bolt of barbers? There were no attempts to get the scissors out and tidy up the messy bits until I asked him directly. And even then, it was only 4 more minutes before the mirror was out again and money was being asked for. I actually got the scissors out at home an hour later and finished off where he left off. I was also covered in hair trimmings all day too. Not only do the capes they give not really work when tied-up badly, but the fabric-cushioned chairs you sit in are a magnet for yours and other people’s hairs. I appreciate low-cost and speed, but not this time. I guess my barber had something on his mind, as he was out of the shop and pacing down the road to somewhere before I’d finished putting my coat back on.
