Wonderful little deli with a huge selection of fabulous cheeses, charcuterie and everything you could ever need for your store cupboard. That in itself would be enough, but the really amazing part about Spoon is the selection of incredible pastries and soups that Nell cooks in the back of the shop. Until you’ve tasted her pastry (be it in the form of a pie, sausage roll or a cake), you really haven’t tasted pastry… divine. And as for the orange and almond cake — seriously addictive. There’s room for a couple of tables outside (when the weather permits) to grab a coffee and cake and there’s also a little table inside. All of this and one of the warmest welcomes around, perfect!

An oasis in a epicurean desert. That would be the best way to describe this slightly shabby but wonderful deli in Brixton Hill.
Perfect for picking up weekend treats and delli stock for the week. Drop by Thursday for the exceptional fish, I always get there on Saturday when the choice is more limited.
Fantastic French fare, including delicious sausages — best that I have tasted this side of the channel.
The owner, I believe, is a pastry chef, and some of the cakes and pastries on offer are delicious. The range is usually limited. I tried the almond orange cake last Sunday and was very impressed. Also, if you are need of an espresso they make a reasonably good coffee.
