I visited this restaurant — part of the Hotel Indigo — on Monday night with my family who were visiting from Australia. We had actually tried to go to the restaurant the night before but were turned away — even though there was only one other table eating — due to the fact that there was only one highchair, which to me was ludicrous and made me want to not return! The food was nice — I had prawn crackers and the lamb massaman curry and tried some of my Mum’s Eton Mess for dessert(I’d asked for Tiramisu but was told they had run out!) but the service was quite slow considering we were the only people in there eating! Also my sister-in-law had to ask three times for my nephew’s chips to come with the starters and they didn’t and then had to ask when they would come out! The waitress clearly didn’t understand at all which was disappointing. Wouldn’t return and would only recommend if you’re in the area and there is nowhere else to go or if you’re staying at the Hotel Indigo as the prices were quite high for what you got.

Not bad for a meal while traveling and staying at the Hotel Indigo. Nice clean, vibrant feel to the place. We had the Veggie Club and Greek Salad. They were good, but nothing memorable. The freshly baked dinner rolls were absolutely amazing.

I really really really wanted this place to be good, as I live very close and it’s open at weekends on account of being part of Hotel Indigo at the same address. Unfortunately it’s not. In fact it doesn’t even come close. The pizza, which they claim to be the best in London, is made from cheap ingredients. Total pizza failure both times I’ve had one. Not only that, but the first time I went there they told me the kitchen was closed. Admittedly they had just opened, but that’s still not very good when the staff told me it closed at 10pm and I turned up at 9.30pm unable to get a pizza. I ordered a pasta dish once to take away which sounded incredibly tasty, but it made me feel a bit sick, while I was eating it. Again, no good. And one Saturday I went there looking for an English breakfast, having been assured on several occasions by the staff there that the breakfast is excellent. Unfortunately the staff are gravely mistaken if they think this is an excellent breakfast. For starters it costs £20. Now you’d think this had better be a damn good breakfast for £20, but there’s a greasy spoon café almost across the road from this place that sells exactly the same thing for about £4. I can only describe this as London’s biggest rip-off. What you get for your £20 is a couple of fried eggs, some tesco value toast, tesco value sausages and a dollop of beans. It was truly terrible. It’s such a shame because I really like the décor, and the staff themselves are lovely.
