Strada

You gotta love Strada especially this one in Chiswick. Located at the quieter end of the high road this restaurant is perfect for any occasion. i went here for my first official date with my girlfriend and we both had a great time. the wine list isn’t that creative but all bottle’s suit the food served so you will always find one to suit.
Staff are friendly and very attentive. Although small and compact you feel in a world of your own when your seated at your table.
Would go here again and again. Worth a visit!

I can’t quite remember why, but I always used to feel a bit ambivalent about Strada — we used to go to the one on Upper Street, when my wife was performing in shows at the Kings Head, and there was something about it that felt a bit chainy but somehow also a bit phoney. Something to do with the measuring sticks they used for the house wine annoyed me.
I went back a couple of weeks ago — to the Chiswick High Road branch — because we had a 2 for 1 voucher. And it was surprisingly good. We didn’t have anything out of the ordinary — I had a Fiorentina pizza — but a really good fresh one — and she had a Risotto — which was also good. Can’t remember what wine and starters we had — but we had a good time. Despite arriving late without a booking and having to sit behind the door.
And, obviously, it was cheap because we were using our cheap-​ass voucher.
I’ll be back. With or without voucher.

OK, I know, it’s a chain.
I visit chains as a lazy option where you pretty much know what your getting without having to stimulate your imagination. I thought I’d write a review on the Chiswick Strada as the service paralleled the most service oriented places I can think of.
My brother is allergic to a couple of key ingredients in Italian cuisine, our waitress was extremely careful in helping my brother choose, and even went as far as going through the individual ingredients with him and ensuring the selection he made was suitable
Went for the fiorentina pizza and a Tiramisu dessert, went down quite well.
Great attentive service, highly recommended for those less imaginative days.

Stuck down the quiet end of Chiswick High Road, this restaurant is nice enough, does a good pizza and has some good pastas. Just don’t bother with the risottos. They’re not hard to cook, but they take patience and timing, and the chefs here are too busy with the pizzas.

Strada’s menu describes itself as ‘a group of stylish, contemporary Italian restaurants, serving good quality, simple and freshly prepared dishes’. Within their group statement there are sixty restaurants offering people good quality Italian food. Their first outlet opened in Battersea in 1999 and their clientele has been increasing steadily ever since, because they seem to expanding all the time with more out-​lets planned.
Though Strada has grown into a fair sized chain — it retains the feel of being a local neighbourhood Italian restaurant. The menu includes pastas, risottos, grilled meat, and fish dishes, but in my opinion they are best known for their pizzas.
The restaurants present authentic Italian dishes in contemporary surroundings and aim to use only the freshest and finest ingredients, such as single vineyard extra virgin olive oil, Parma ham and buffalo mozzarella, imported from Italy to provide exactly the kind of rustic, traditional dishes one would expect to find travelling around its regions.
On this evening when I ate in Chiswick I began with Insalata Toscania, melted Buffalo Mozzarella wrapped in speck on a Tuscan salad of vine Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumber, roasted Red Peppers, Onion, Ciabatta Croutons and Olives. The Gamberoni has roasted butterflied king prawns with Garlic, White wine, Chilli, Lemon, Parsley and extra virgin Olive oil to start.
I then decided to try the very creamy Risotto di Verdure, freshly grilled Asparagus, Broad Beans, Peas, Spring Onions, Zucchini, Green Beans and Mint, finished with baby Spinach leaves and shaved Parmesan. You could also opt for the healthier, Spigola al Forno, whole Sea Bass stuffed with Thyme and Fennel, served with grilled Lemon and roasted potatoes and my escort for evening had the Costata di Manzo, fourteen ounce chargrilled, twenty one day aged rib-​eye steak, served on the bone with roasted cubetti potatoes, green beans and a garlic and herb butter.
Strada’s wine list mainly had regional Italian wines, beers and liqueurs, all carefully chosen to complement the menu, and in addition, every table receives a complimentary bottle of purified water– which I think is a really nice thought.
A range of traditional pizzas, each one spun by hand, is also an integral feature of Strada’s menu. Options include the Rossa, with spicy Southern Italian Salami, roasted Red Peppers, Chilli, Caramelised Onion, Garlic, fresh Oregano, Tomato and Mozzarella. Vegetarians are not neglected either, as they have Florentina, made of Spinach cooked with Garlic, Nutmeg and Black Pepper with Mozzarella, Parmesan, Tomato and a free-​range egg, on the menu.
For those wanting to satisfy their sweet tooth, there is Tiramisu, authentic Italian dessert with light sponge soaked in Espresso and Rum, layered with Mascarpone cheese, eggs and dusted with Cocoa powder, along with a range of Italian coffees.
