This is my favourite go-to sushi joint in London. It is £15.99 all you can eat. ALLYOUCANEAT. I hate to imagine how much ‘all I can eat’ sushi would cost me at any other restaurant serving this level of quality food. The menu includes a full range of delicious, fresh, authentic sushi(sashimi, nigiri, maki, hand rolls etc) and hot dishes including katsu, dumplings, noodles and more. I’ve been here with vegans and with friends who hate sushi and they have all managed to gorge themselves silly with a grin on their face. The restaurant itself is pretty basic, there’s not really much of an atmosphere, no music, and the staff can be anything from super friendly to really rather grumpy(although they do seem to be happier of late) Go with a few friends, order up some plates and some bottomless green tea and make your own atmosphere. I recommend Sushi Japan to everyone I meet who likes sushi(and even those who don’t) Anyone willing to trek out to North Finchley will not be disappointed.

As my local sushi restaurant, I am a regular customer. It is easy to find being on the main high street(and opposite a rival sushi restaurant Ai Sushi!). On my first visit upon walking in, the first thing I noticed was that it was extremely quiet. With no music playing, the restaurant lacks any atmosphere whatsoever and every word during conversation seemed too loud. This aside, Sushi Japan offers a wide range of sushi as well as bento boxes with lots of options to choose from. Having been to Ai Sushi across the road, I noticed their sushi to be of a much better quality which would explain their higher prices. With a mixture of pros and cons, Sushi Japan is worth visiting for those needing a sushi fix at low prices and quick service.

This is a funny one to judge. Pros: Under £15 for all you can eat sushi. So. Much. Sushi. All the sushi. Lots of choices for the veggies too! Also went with a group of omnivores, picky eaters, and dieters, and everyone was perfectly happy with the All-you-can-eat selection. Friends are pretty happy with the quality of the seafood. Cons: The service. 75% of the time it is pretty horrible. They seem not to care.(However, often there was also a rowdy birthday party they were serving, or a table of really rude people, so I get them no longer giving a hoot). Refills take forever. We often get up to pour our own water or tea that are just sitting at the bar. Still, the service is not always bad. And it hasn’t kept me from returning for Sunday hangover brunches with a friend. So I am basing my rating more on all that lovely food I know I can eat!
