Went to this place because previous reviews(though slightly older) were good. The location is difficult but the restaurant itself is clean and well-lit. The food, however, is terrible. I dont think the kitchen remembers how to do basic Thai dishes — i had Tom Yum and fish cakes. The fish cakes were inedible and could not be cut with my fork. The Tom Yum is unlike anything I have ever seen, with globules of oil drifting on top. I do not recommend this place!

My meal was so tasty, I’m actually writing this review from the restaurant! Literally the best panang curry I’ve ever eaten! Great balance of interesting flavours with a lovely textured sticky rice. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, definitely coming back. But first, I must eat my dessert.

Based on take away experience. Average Thai food from local Thai restaurant in East London. We gave this place a try after perusing excellent reviews online. However, my husband and I found their food to be 3 star worthy only which is equivalent to about average. We had the pad thai with prawns which I personally thought to be actually below average. I thought they were lacking the tamarindy(tangy and sweet) taste to it. Perhaps because I am used to the Pad thai that is tamarind based although I heard that the orginal Pad thai is suppose to be without it. In addition, I found the chef’s platter starter special to be on the dry side and lacking flair. On the contrary, I thought that the Panang curry with beef was really good. It is spicy but at a medium range thus our taste buds were able to savour the nice blend of lemon grass, coconut milk and thai spices, meat and vegetables all together. As for the chef recommended Chicken with garlic and pepper sauce, it was ok. Nothing distinct or worthy of writing. We really wished this place was better as it is just too far to travel all the way to Earl’s Court to get our favorite Thai food.

I have been to this place twice in the past month. Generous portions, nice yet unusual location, friendly and warm service, and delicious Thai food!

Yeah, what Siany said. Great — and attractive — restaurant where you’d never expect such a place to be. With one of my favourite pubs(The Palm Tree) and one of my fave galleries(High Roller Society) both nearby, the Thai Room makes up a trio of hot spots for a lovely night out. And should you find you’ve eaten too much and the weather’s nice, go for a stroll along the canal! Not cheap but reasonably priced with ample servings and friendly staff, it’s a great little place for yummy Thai dishes.

If someone had told me that I’d have found an amzing Thai Restaurant in the middle of nowhere, I wouldn’t have believed it. This place is about ten miles out of nowheresville inbetwen Mile End and Bethnal Green Tube. It’s not easy to find so do use the map. That said, it is worth looking for. And it’s only a ten minute walk from either tube. It’s surprisingly pretty. I expected it to look like a glorified take away. No offence to those nice East Enders, but it was a shock that it looked so upmarket. Like it should have been in Central London. The guys ho work here are proud to. They like their restaurant and that shows in everything they do. The food is great. The wine list is simple but more than fine. We enjoyed it much more though as we weren’t meant to come out. We definately weren’t meant to be drinking! It did make the whole evening more fun though… The food is great. It’s simple but it works. It’s all about flavour and it’s a shock. Sometimes you go to Thai places in town and they tend to be a little bland. In flavour and décor. The only reason I’ve given it four stars instead of five is I wish I’d ordered the chicken curry instead of the lamb — I’m not sure the lamb worked very well. I’ll come back here. Hopefully very soon. Don’t bring a huge group of people here, but sneak in when you’re meant to be somewhere else and you’ll have a great time.
