A good lunch spot near the college. Pretty large menu, with all the usual Thai favorites. The food is quite tasty! They had no problem serving our very large party for lunch.

Good food good service you can get a real thai food here. I’m thai and I recommend this place. If you want the real thai food should come and also they have a karaōke downstair. Such a lovely place. I will come again for sure.

Simple, tasty, uncomplicated and amazing value. For quite a small area, New Cross has some amazing things to offer in the way of lunch. Thailand is no exception. Apart from the fact you get to say — «oh I’m just popping to Thailand» when you visit for lunch, Happy hour(which helpfully runs from 12−7pm) means you can sit down for 2 courses for just £4,95. This is just perfect when you’ve had your fill of canteen and shop bought lunches or want to catch up with a friend in your lunch hour. The Happy hour menu is limited for Vegetarians, however it’s really got just what you need. I normally opt for the Vegetable tempura starter and Red Thai Curry with rice. It’s not going to be the best Thai food you’ve ever had, but actually tops some of the more posher Thai eateries I’ve visited in London. And for the price it’s just amazing Value. Their Fish cakes are actually the best I’ve ever had. The service is quick and efficient and the waiting staff do know their regulars. But be warned, the fish dishes do take a lot longer to come out. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and a pleasant dining experience. For such a modest establishment, Thailand is regularly packed, but not as over packed as some places. If you’re in the area it’s a definate reccommend.

We ordered take away last night and were very happy with the food and service in general. We ordered vegetable tempura, chicken wings and 2 chicken pad thai’s and the only thing we didn’t really rate was the chicken wings but everything else was yummy. Will definitely order from here again and try out a bit more of the menu.

Nice student prices on dinner specials 5 — 7pm weekdays. The special comes with a starter and a main. Portions are small compared to the usual heaping platters at Asian places, but it was definitely enough for me to be completely satiated. My entire group(11 people, I think) ordered different combinations of starter and main dinner special, and everyone was satisfied. There were veggie options as well. I had the tom yum soup and red pepper chicken. Both were solid and tasty. I’d eat here again.

Good food and atmosphere, cheap too. The only thing I didn’t like was that the waitress took away my plate before my girlfriend had finished, no rush!

Very good Thai dishes, and set menu available also. Pleasant staff and owners. Shame it is South London — would have visited very often if it was Central London.

I rarely give 5 stars, but this is an exception. Everytime i’ve been here(weekdays and weekends, evenings and afternoons, busy and quiet) i’ve had both amazing service and even better food. Intimate seating area inside and in the summer, outside, with another part downstairs. The bar is small, but great value(the beer here is cheaper than in most pubs in the area) and the service is always fast, polite and welcoming. The food is good, considering you can get a starter, main, side and drink all for easily under £15. Lunch time is happy hour, with set meals for less than £5. Great selection of meats and Taiwanese dishes on the menu. Opposite Goldsmiths college and just off the main strip(New Cross Road), the crowed here is always good. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, especially if you are in the area.

Thailand Restaurant is the most attractive building in restaurant row here so it is rather difficult to miss; one can see wood finishing, shiny windows and a bright sign at the storefront. They tend to their attractiveness like a garden as they were redoing the front windows when I visited. The food here is as attractive. Their red curry was savory and tasted as good as red curry can get. The vegetables tasted fresh and the food was served quickly. It seems like an especially good place for lunch as foot traffic was as fast as the food being handed and eaten.

Angry Lamb. It was furious!, have never had anything so hot, but yet so clean tasting. If you like your single malts there are a wall full of them. Go there it is great

This looks like a café from the outside. Not somewhere to go for the ambiance. The food however is amazing. The lunch time menu is around £5.00. We had just come back from Thailand, the taste of authentic cuisine fresh in our minds. I was truly amazed to be served a Tom Yam soup that tasted just as good as in its homeland. I highly recommend the Red Tai vegetable curry. you must visit this place but get there early or book.

The Thailand is very popular with Goldsmiths Students, and for a reason. The prices are relatively low and the food is good! I would personally recommend the Duck with sesame or the tempura and Spring Rolls, but then my heat tolerance is really bad, so if you are adventurous try some of the beef dishes and curries. The restaurant is not a fussy place, is always really busy and so it tends to get hot and steamy in there, but so what! A great place to go with mates to get some yummy Laotian food at student prices.

This restaurant looks unassuming from the outside, and is in an otherwise uninteresting parade of shops near Goldsmith’s College. However, inside the surroundings and service are pleasant and the food is superb. Best of all, the two-course lunch special offers unbelievable value for money without sacrificing quality. As well as the Thai standards — beautifully executed — the menu offers a choice of Laotian specialities which are well worth trying. The dining room isn’t large, so I would recommend booking or getting there early — it’s worth the effort! Takeaway is also available but I’ve always preferred eating in. Don’t assume that because it’s in south-east London, the Thailand is inaccessible. A very short walk away is New Cross station, only one stop from London Bridge, so why not venture out of the centre and try this local gem?
