The massage was fine. However I could not relax. There were no ‘treatment’ rooms, just two massage couches with curtains surrounding them. One upstairs in full sight of the door and one in the basement. There was Very little privacy. The area I was in was the basement. There was a washing machine, toilet, shower, microwave, cuppa soup and a fridge down there, as well as a massage couch. There was a curtain around the couch, this was not used– there wouldn’t of been room between the curtain and the couch for someone to give a massage. There was no where to put my bag or clothes so they had to be put on the tiled basement floor that I felt was dirty. The women were nice but I wish I’d of walked straight back out as soon as I was taken down to the basement. The towel I was given seemed very old and worn out. It was a dark green colour and seemed threadbare– I didn’t want it anywhere near my body but didn’t say anything, the other towels I could see didn’t look like any improvement. The massage couch didn’t have towels on it, just a few pieces of paper placed over the plastic. There was also no cushion surrounding the hole you placed your face in. After the massage when I arrived home(an hour and a half later) there was still the indent of the couch on my face. There was no mat or paper to stand on before getting onto the couch meaning that my feet got dirty. The lady giving the massage did not wipe clean my feet before beginning. If this had happened when trying to become a registered/trained masseur they would have failed based on lack of basic hygiene principles. When i got home I got straight in the shower and exfoliated my whole body to try and get ‘clean’. I will never be returning. I found the experience pretty traumatic– luckily I myself didn’t have to pay as I was using a gift voucher brought for me. I cannot emphasise enough how uncomfortable I felt in this establishment. I didn’t feel able/comfortable to communicate this to the owner myself at the time so left saying it was very nice and relaxing– in reality I just wanted to get out of there as soon as I possibly could.
