Not really sure what to make of this place, it seems a bit confused… Pub? Sports bar? Bar/club? Nice brick interior but the red lights around the bar make it a bit seem a bit seedy. Maybe in need of a bit of a makeover. Nice staff though and prices are reasonable. Football is usually on, ok food and a hidden alcovey place round the back. A reasonable place to go if you don’t fancy shelling out over £4 a pint at a typical NW gastro type pub or don’t fancy a «traditional» Irish around these parts.

If there’s nothing else, then it’s OK. But generally a car crash of a bar. If you want to go downmarket, this is your place.

Great place. Does great pizzas and always has a good selection of beers and spirits. It gets busy on weekends(turning into a disco kinda thing on Fridays and Saturdays), and stays open pretty late on weeknights. Has benches outside, and if you ask them they’ll roll back the awning in the summer. In winter there are heaters for those who are crazy enough to still be in London.

So much fun. My friends dragged me here about two years ago. It was a bit of a dive back then, lots of fights and stuff. It even smelled like mouldy regret. I moved to the area a few months back, and started going there again, and it’s really cleaned up. There’s always music on weekends and the staff are quite friendly(bartenders are hot too). If you can, get the Aussie to make you a cocktail. It’s really close to public transport(buses stop out the front, it’s next to Brondesbury and near Kilburn stations), and ALWAYS open late. The prices are good and people are nice.

I was intrigued to try a night at Brondes Age. I had been going past it for a decade before actually giving it a go. I may well wait another decade. The staff were nice enough and the drinks did not break the bank. However, there was the most hideous smell of dead rat/sewerage coming from behind the bar. Even the staff were gagging. That was a big no-no. I spent the duration of my visit outside despite the chilly evening. The other aspect of Brondes Age is the location. At the no man’s land between Brondesbury Bridge and Kilburn Jubilee Line bridge, it is hardly a view to savour as the skag-heads and muggers mill around. I am sure that some people love the place and on an evening where the bar does not smell, it may be a lot more interesting to visit. To be fair, I would give it another go. And hopefully I will increase the rating on here…

Once upon a time this place was my second home. I spent nearly EVERYNIGHT in this place, but times change. I got married a couple of years back and became a parent. I hadn’t been here for a while, so on a rare night out I went back. They say«Never revisit past glories» and now I know why… The once clean toilets now stink. The once bubbly, frothy beer is flat as a pancake and as Alexander B has stated(I know this chap personally as we frequent the same sort of places) it is now some sort of bare knuckle boxing club!!! On my return I saw a chap smash somebodies car up with a golf club in a drunken rage… Then another fight kicked off between some Blazin’ Squad looking tweerps… The floor is sticky, everybody is coked up to the eyeballs and aggressive with it. I can not get across how good this place once was and how bad it has become… Shame, I used to love this place. May I suggest some Dettol for the floors and toilets and pest control for the coke rats…

It’s a sports bar, its a restaurant, its a club. All in one night! Went here for a friends birthday party. We showed up at 7pm having already reserved a spot for all her guests(they have a couple sections you can reserve for parties). There was a football match on a big projector going on. Kind of quiet. Still in sports bar mode. Later the projector went up, the game volume got turned off and after the kitchen closed at 10 the section of dinner tables was moved to make a dance floor with a dj. The bartenders seemed to not pay too much attention to us and were even kind of angry taking orders. We were sitting in a back section and a waitress kept coming by every 10 minutes trying to get us to order food. She was very determined and kind of annoying. Some drinks were cheap. You can order pitchers for like 12.50. They have lots of food options. A whole pizza selection. lots of main dishes. Prices aren’t that bad either. Only had the chips when we were there. Two kinds! haha :) Wimped out and left before the dancing really got underway. Will try going back later in the night.

Brondes Age is right by Brondesbury Overground station, and just down the road from Kilburn Underground station. It has a fairly dark interior, in several sections with a big screen in the main section(plus several tv’s dotted around) that was showing football on my last visit(it was loud due to the football, bit not at all intimidating). The large pavement-side patio section was also pretty popular with the smokers. Open all day until late, if your looking for a late drink, this is a good option for somewhere with a decent atmosphere. The bar itself has a fairly good selection of lagers and draught Magners and a few bottled ciders as well as a varied wine and cocktail list so there should be something for most(I don’t recall what ales/bitters were available). Bar staff seemed slightly stand-offish, but otherwise perfromed their duties efficiently and with aplomb. Food is always good with generous portions, well presented — The usual pub type menu(burgers, salads, sandwichesand they also do some good(Italian style thin crust) pizzas. Overall its not the cheapest place to eat/drink, but its a good all round bet and is probably one of th ebetter places to eat/drink on Kilburn High Road.

How do I chart the very steep fall of this place? forget it, i can’t. I think that Brondes Age was and has the potential to do well, and on the week days you can get by without hindrance. But on a weekend, the place turns into Basra. Without insulting too many people, aesthetically it looks good, in fact, very nice, well invested in, but due to management issues and cutting down on costs, which lead to constant staff changes, the bar will never be anything other than a fight club, sorry, but I’ve seen too many bloody noses.

If you find yourself looking for a spot to have a drink in Kilburn, this is the place to go. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and even Magners on tap if you’re a fan. The staff were friendly and the prices where pretty decent too. Its draw point for me was a very nice and spacious outside sitting area, its easy enough to get a table and they have huge heaters keeping it all cosy on those cold winter nights! Such places are godsends for us dirty smokers who just want to enjoy a ciggie with our beer!

On a weekend this place is always packed out-it’s a real hit with the locals of Kilburn which is always a good sign. From the outside it looks like quite a tacky, cheesy bar in my opinion because of the large plastic shelters but when inside the atmosphere really changes. It’s exposed brick walls and soft lighting creates a really welcoming environment. There are little caverns and nooks and crannies to hide away in which I think is great. The people who frequent Brondes Age are a friendly, lively bunch and from my experience the staff are great and quick to take orders. It’s a great place to go every day of the week!

Hip bar, only a few years old. Lots of dark red, unpainted brick walls and mis-matching furniture. Has those amazingly hot heaters outside and comfy benches for all you smokers out there(or if you just fancy watching the traffic of Kilbun High Road.) Most importantly it stays open till 2am, so if you manage to nab one of the sofas you can really settle in for the evening.

I have always tried to find a decent pub in Kilburn so I was quite surprised when I stumbled across the Brondesage. It has a pleasant outside which is perfect for everyone in the summer(although the view of kilburn high road is not great) and perfect for smokers in winter as it has lots of heaters outside. Inside it has a cosy, dark atmosphere with interesting chairs and ornaments and the cocktails made by the excellent bar staff and not cheap but worth forking out for. Not a fantastic venue but as it opens till 2am most nights it can be a laugh!

The Brondesage is a kind of pub combined with a restaurant as opposed to being the bar restaurant that the online marketing suggests. Nethertheless the terracotta walls, wooden tables and the booths especially(somewhere to snuggle away in) make a wecolming site to the eyes. The Brondesage is open all day, so you can grab lunch, dinner, a drink or bar snacks. Whatever grabs your fancy really… With a heated outside terrace which should attract the smokers, this venue is nothing particularly out of the ordinary. However the welcoming atmosphere makes it worth a visit.
