As I cannot physically bend backwards over a salon sink due to a disability I asked for a dry trim and explained why (even though it was obvious) and was told, «No, we will not cut hair without first washing it — sorry».
Yes, a more precise cut can be had when the hair is wet, however, if that is not possible and the customer is prepared to accept a less than perfect cut — and considering it takes up less of the salon’s time — what’s the problem? Does it upset the stylist’s sensibilities in some way or is it the fact that they cannot charge for the wash and blow dry?
To be so inflexible towards someone with a physical disability is extremely unprofessional and uncaring. For all I know the Cutting Room’s stylists could be brilliant but, without customer care, their expertise is irrelevant. Avoid!

The Cutting Room is a trendy, unisex hairdressing salon in Streatham Hill, which opens late nights (8pm) and Saturdays. Funky decoration, the staff are knowledgable and actually listen to your requirements rather than telling you what you should have! A rarity these days (even their slogan agrees — we’re as individual as you!). The Cutting Room is well known locally for their creative cutting and colour, and they are part of the 365 Hair Group.
They stock Bed Head /Tigi products and staff are happy to sit you down for a cuppa and a consultion to discuss your requirements before booking your appointment.
I got a really good haircut here recently and will certainly be going back! Check out their website for offers before you go.
Only downside is the salon gets really steamed up windows by early evening and you can’t nosy in as you walk past!
